Famous Michelin-Starred Chicken Rice Shop Has Opened In Ipoh

Do you remember reading news about the first hawker stall in Singapore that was awarded the Michelin Star in 2016?   It was the famous chicken rice stall known as the Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice and Noodle in Chinatown, Singapore.   It is often known as the cheapest Michelin starred food and the owner, Mr. Chan Hon Meng was from Ipoh.   He has decided to open a branch in his hometown, Ipoh.  According to my sister who had visited the shop during its soft-opening a few days ago, it is different compared to the regular chicken rice shops in Ipoh.  Hawker Chan’s version is Hong Kong style, featuring soya sauce chicken, barbecued pork and roast pork.  Wantan mee is also on the menu. The price of a plate of chicken rice starts from RM6.80.

I cannot wait to go back to Ipoh and give it a try.  I won’t be having chicken rice or wanton noodles.  So perhaps a plate of soya sauce chicken and roast pork/barbecue pork.  Below is the address if you are interested to give it a try:-
