I have a soft spot for linen at the moment. There’s something about its texture, breathability, and effortless charm that makes it my favourite fabric, especially in our hot and humid weather. So imagine my joy when I saw a linen dress for sale one of my favourite stalls at the neighbourhood market. I have blogged about these stalls selling the branded clothes with brands like Monki, H&M, Cos, Next, Monsoon and many more.
Noticed that I mention “stalls” and not ”stall”? Yes, there are 2 stalls that sell these branded clothes which are stock overruns from the factories in Bangladesh. These 2 stalls get their stock from the same supplier so consumers like me have more choices. These 2 stalls sell the same clothes and sometimes one stall has more choices than the other because the stall owner bought more stock. Every time I visit, I feel like I’m on a treasure hunt.
Occasionally, I find a gem and this time, it was a beautiful linen dress in charcoal shade. However, it’s not perfect. There’s a faint stain near the collar and it’s barely noticeable unless you’re inspecting it up close. I told the stall owner about it and she said she’ll give me a discount for the dress. She offered me RM15 for the dress. What a steal right? I quickly paid for it and brought it home.I tried soaking it in baking soda for a few hours but the stubborn stain just won’t budge.

Can you spot the stain?
Actually I don’t mind the stain because I really like this linen dress and RM15 for real linen is a good deal. So here’s the linen dress – all washed and ironed.
