Recently I found a new stall selling this type of Chee Cheong Fun (noodles made from rice milk) at the coffeeshop in my neighbourhood. According to the stall owner, this is the famous Teluk Intan Chee Cheong Fun. I bought a packet home to try. It cost RM4.50. The noodles are made fresh on the spot. Rice milk is poured evenly onto a metal tray, sprinkled with some turnips, minced meat and dried shrimps. Then the tray is steamed for about 2 minutes to cook them. When done, the noodles are rolled out and cut into smaller pieces.
Although it comes with a packet of sweet sauce, I find that the chee cheong fun is best eaten with just the pickled chillies. Last week at the Pasar Malam (Night Market), I saw a stall selling the same food too. It also cost RM4.50 a packet. Pasar Malam’s food is not cheap eh?
Never had before Chee Cheong FUn with pickled green chilies. Must be good rite!
Yummy! These look really good. Where is this stall? I usually go to Uptown for TI chee cheong fun.
Yes, pasar malam food is overpriced.
Omg this is my no1 favorite food. Unfortunately they don’t sell in my neighborhood 🙁 I like it with the sweet sauce. Super yums!!!!
Rice milk chee cheong fun is so unique. RM4.50 is quite expensive, but if it is nice, then it is worthy.
i still like my Penang ccf best, with prawn paste and all. I tasted TI ccf for the first time last weekend. Nothing special wor…
yes, this is nothing special actually…just something different. I prefer Hong Kong CCF with char siew and shrimps 🙂
I always hear Cynthia tar-pau ccf from TI.. must ask her if this is as good as the real thing. I like the ccf from Imbi market, very smooth n tasty 😀
Wanted to eat when we pass by Teluk Intan but the shop is close.. no luck!~
Yummy….I like this type of CCF!
Barb which shop is that?
This looks really good!
oh.. now KL also got liao ah… one day I should go try see if that can ‘compete’ with the original.. but definitely the price is way higher coz in TI, it selling at RM3.40 only…
Looks yummy to me. Agree..pasar malam food are getting more expensive. Haven’t been to pasar malam for ages.
I love chee cheong fun with pickled chillies, too! And I would pour in the sweet sauce to get the sweet sour spicy taste. Yummy!
Ooohh…looks alot like the one from Teluk Intan. Agreed best to go with the pickle chilli! 🙂
I love Hong Kong style chee cheong fun. So heavenly to eat it with the sambal chilli
hehehehhe…i am like you, i still prefer the Hong Kong ccf with char siew. Yum.
OMG!….this is my favourites food….I still remember when I dating with my hub we will drive all the way down to TI just to tapau the CCF!….
