We did a lot of touristy stuff this time when we were in Malacca. Ms. Chatter Box insisted on taking the trishaw ride so off we went.

I didn’t take any photos of us on the trishaw (beca) because it was a hilarious and guilty trip. Hilarious because as soon as we sat down on the trishaw, the Pakcik (uncle) quickly switched on a Chinese CD which consists of songs in the 70’s. I couldn’t stop laughing. Man, it was hilarious. Just imagine, all 3 of us on a trishaw, going around Malacca with Chinese songs blaring from the trishaw. Guilty because I felt bad as the poor Pakcik had to ferry all 3 of us around. We are definitely not light. My hubby kept asking him, “Bolehkah Pakcik?” (Is it ok uncle?) Luckily there was no need to go up the slope.
After the trishaw ride, we took the Malacca River Boat Cruise. We enjoyed the river cruise very much. It was fun to see the old buildings that have been repainted and turned into guest houses or cafes. We even saw a few big monitor lizards swimming in the river. Exciting!
That’s what we did in Malacca besides visiting Jonker Street. Will update more on what we ate later 🙂
Wow! You ‘naik beca’. I forget when I last ‘naik beca’. Guilty and hilarious, but fun also right?
Luckily they didn’t put on chinese techno music, which was what they did when I last got on in my 20s.
oh my..i don’t know if i’ll laugh or cry…hahahhaha
Hoho, don’t worry, trishaw uncles are prepared to carry any weight la 😛
hahhaa..yes…he said “orang putih lagi berat” :))
You like to go Malacca! hahaha.. like i go to taiping.. 🙂
Good tips, Barb.. I love going to Malacca too and is planning for a trip there soon.. 🙂

I know what you ate – chicken rice balls lor, cendol lor, eh, ikan bakar?
I can imagine how hilarious that would be with the music blaring!
hehheehe…ate the first 2 but didn’t get to try ikan bakar or satay celup 🙂
I was laughing while reading the 2nd paragraph on your beca ride. That uncle is a Malay guy, right? And he put on Chinese CD to give the best service to his customers? Wait, his trishaw has CD player? WOW!
what song? yeh sang hai?? i read also pity him..just your hubby alone, he will drag riding the trishaw i think..eeuurgh!!
i forgot what songs but they were oldies lah…hahahahhaa
I love feeding koi fishes. They are so beautiful!
LOL…the pakcik should put Lady Gaga’s songs lah. 🙂 That was a fun experience. Make me wanna naik beca when I go Melaka. 😛
Ha ha….my hubby also kept asking the same thing when the 3 of us squeezed into the trishaw last time. Somemore it was a lady trishaw driver. (but a big sized one)
hahhha..oh yeah, i remember reading about it in your blog 🙂
Lol at the trishaw ride. I miss Melaka!
