Some time back, Annie told me about this famous James Chendol that she read from one of the food blogs. Since it was located near my neighbourhood, hubs and I went to check it out.
This is their signboard and they even have a facebook page 🙂
A bowl of delicious and fresh chendol with red beans and pulut rice. I love it. The chendol are so soft and flavourful. A great thirst-quencher on a hot day. Don’t you just like the cute coconut bowl?
Guess what? James Chendol which orginates from Sitiawan, has a new branch and it is in Seri Petaling. You can find them at BHYJ Teahouse Restaurant (same row as Alison coffeeshop & opposite the new Police Station)
BHYJ Teahouse Restaurant. You won’t be able to miss its red logo signage.
The exterior where James Chendol stall is.
Here is James whipping up a bowl of tasty chendol. Check out the red bowtie. How impeccably dressed is he?
The interior of the restaurant
Besides enjoying a nice bowl of chendol, one can also try the dishes at BHYJ Teahouse Restaurant. They serve very unique Chinese dishes and some of them are as follows:-
Blanched Kai Lan topped with Deep Fried Kai Lan leaves. I haven’t seen this dish before in other restaurants.
Stir-fried Seafood Noodle. Another one of my favourites.
Karaage (Japanese style Fried Chicken) in special sauce
Another must-try dish is this Pu-Er Tea Stewed Pork Belly. I like this flavourful dish very much. BHYJ Teahouse & Restaurant also specializes in Premium Chinese Tea. It is a great place to enjoy unique and traditional tea that are beneficial to our health.
A wide selection of tea on display inside the restaurant.
Gosh all these photos of food is making me so hungry right now. So, if you would like to try some of these unique dishes with a bowl of chendol that is made like the good old days for dessert, then you must visit James Chendol at BHYJ Teahouse Restaurant.

Barbara, are you staying in Sri Petaling? Because I am. LOL. But I haven’t been to this restaurant. Thank you for sharing this otherwise I wouldn’t know of it’s existence. However, I’ve tried Blanched Kai Lan with deep fried Kai Lan leaves before. But for the cendol’s sake and the other dishes, I will go.

Oooh, I must check out this restaurant and the cendol! I am a great fan-see of cendol!
The restaurant has very special menu indeed, I never seen kailan leave got deep fried. It looks crunchy though.
And the cendol stall… it’s very ‘outstanding’ in the shop 🙂
The cendol made us drool!!! Hmm…must try this if I go to KL and compare if it’s just as nice as the famous cendol in Penang hahaha

Best part of this Puer tea cum restaurant was the good quality of ripe puer tea (2008) being serve. This is the 2nd such restaurant that serve such good Q puer tea, most of the other Chinese restaurant in K.L. including those famous one give you poor color tea…
Thank you for your comment. Yes, their Pu er tea is indeed very good quality. I am not a fan of Chinese tea and yet I enjoy having them at BHYJ Restaurant.
