Another new cafe has sprung up in the OUG neighbourhood. The Hub is the 4th cafe in this area. Boy is the landscape of this neighbourhood changing. In about 2 more years or so, Paradigm-OUG and Pavillion Bukit Jalil shopping malls are going to be up. I can’t wait. Ok back to The Hub Cafe. It opened its doors last week and we quickly made our way there last Friday night.
Very minimalist design, less is more. I love the blue and grey chairs. If you look closely, the framing on the walls are actually egg trays. According to the owner, they are used to absorb the noise and the echoes in the cafe. Not sure if that would work though because I have heard that it’s a myth but they do create a special decor that matches the grey chairs.
As usual, a cafe is not a cafe without cakes and pastries.
Hubs ordered the drip coffee which comes in a slender bottle. At first we thought it would like the Vietnamese type of drip coffee but we were wrong. I don’t quite fancy this but hubs thinks it’s ok as he does not like his coffee sweet.
We ordered Egg Benedict with Hollandaise sauce which was pretty good. The blue and yellow colours on the plate are actually food jam. Something unique which I haven’t seen before.
My latte with a banana muffin. Coffee was strong and good.
I love this part of the cafe where glass panels are installed to bring in some light from the outside.
Missy and I went again the next day for breakfast. Here is my cappuccino and she had a choc muffin and we shared the mint oreo mille crepe.
Do you know what this is? It is a coffee grinder machine if I am not mistaken. The Hub roast and grind their own coffee beans. This is so cool. You can’t get any fresher coffee than this.
Do check them out when you are in this area.

Looks like this type of cafes are growing like mushrooms after rain. It is also happened in my town. Some can last quite long, some can’t survive for long, all depend on the price and menu.
That drip coffee doesn’t look like a drip coffee. So slim. Haha. I like cold brew coffee instead. Very refreshing.
The egg shell and jam-on-the plate is def unique!
For your last photo, I stared at it for a while. I saw your comment about “mint crepe” and then I saw the plant. Tot it’s one of those plants that look-like-cake then only realised it’s an actual plant, and the cake is next to the plant. Wuahahaha!
Hahaha…you are funny! I won’t mind a cake that looks like the plant 😉
