that caused Ashley to scratch nonstop. This is because last night we all slept in our beds and yet this morning, Ashley’s body began to itch when she woke up. So, she scratched and scratched till red patches appeared all over her legs, hands and buttocks 🙁 Her eyelids were slightly red too. I quickly applied calamine lotion on those areas and then fed her a teaspoon of allergy meds given by her doc a few weeks when she had a slight rash on her finger and feet. Then, I sent her off to school eventhough and she cried when I left. Bad mommy huh? Luckily she was ok when I picked her up. The teacher said she was fine and only cried a bit. I will be feeding her the allergy meds for the another day or two, just in case. She didn’t scratch anymore this whole afternoon. In the meantime, I think she is allergic to some food which she ate while in Ipoh. She had the following:-
Ipoh Koay Teow Soup at 2 different places 2 days in a row
Chee Cheong Fun with char siew
Oyako Don (chicken/egg rice) at Sushi King
maybe she’s allergic to Ipoh koay teow? or the ingredients in the soup or the chee cheong fun? *sigh* Really mind-boggling.
among all things in the food, prawn should be the biggest culprit. no? or something they use to boil the soup?
she didn’t take any prawns that day. perhaps in the soup but she had eaten prawns before though
Ashley used to allergic to seafood? no? or mayb to the dust? My paeds told me that if showing like redness at the eye area would means she /he allergic to dust and soft toys thingy…My Leon boy had it when he’s baby but so far till now “touch wood” he’s doing ok….no more redness at the eyes area edi…
Poor Ashley lar…scratch all over her body…pity her as she’s a very fair girl ler…send my hugzs to her…take care ya
oh, poor Ashely, scratch here and there. hope she is fine now.
she will be ok soon…..
no worries
poor Ashley. It could still be the dust or dustmites. It takes a few days to get it completely out of her system.
hope she is better now yah 🙁
Hi Barbara,
Regarding the soya noodles, I bought it at Tesco. you can try to look for others super and normally it will located at vermicelli or “mee suah” section
i guess when she scratch, it spreads to even more places…anyway, it is good to “test” if ashley is really sensitive to all those food…but test carefully la
Hmmm…it could be the soup base, or maybe bed buds too, it will spread?
Hope Ashley get well soon. No more scratch scratch.
Aiyayayayai! I hope she’s better now. The kway teow soup really looks good! *drool*
Poor lil Ashley. Hope she is better now.
Aiyo I see the Ipoh Hor Fun I drooling lioa… did not get to eat the last time I stopped by Ipoh.
Oh my, the kai see hor fun and cee cheong fun are making me salivate! I still think she was bitten by some bugs or mites. It will take a few days for the swell to subside.
Poor Ashley. Hope she is better now.
Very like it is the seafood. Hope Ashley get well soon and break away from her allegies.
Wooo, mommy go pimples…..getting younger again…..LOL
hehe…cud be prawns… i din realise my no.1 was allergic to prawns until he was 6. now..that’s a baaaaaad mummy…
wakakakakaakakak
Mmm.. agree with other mommies.. could be seafood.. ie in this case the culprit could be prawn. At her age, she can do the allergy test. If you really really want to be sure, you can ask her paed in your next visit.
