of non-stop fever, bad cough and cold, Ashley is finally recovering. She still has phlegmy cough and cold. Perhaps we need to make another trip to the paed later this week to get rid of the phlegm. We have already been to see him 4 times *shake head*. I get paranoid now and has been feeling her body a lot…just to check if she’s warm or not. Ashley lost a lot of weight and has been very crabby (she throws tantrums and likes to scold us) *slaps forehead* I am glad that she’s feeling better and more active now. Thanks for all your well-wishes in my previous post. Daddy went out and bought her a gift yesterday, just to cheer up his princess 😀
He got her a pink dollhouse
My skinny minny *sigh* Can’t wait to open the box
Your child awakens in the middle of the night crying inconsolably. She feels hot to the touch, and you quickly take her temperature. 103 degrees! (39.5 Celcius) You are understandably worried! Should you call your doctor? Should you rush her to the emergency room?
RELAX. DON’T PANIC!
Here are some helpful tips about fevers that will get you safely and comfortably through the night.
- Remember, fevers are your body’s natural response to infection, and not necessarily a sign that something serious is taking place.
- Low-grade fevers are generally not serious, are easily treated, and can wait until the morning to be evaluated by your doctor.
- Fevers of 101 to 103 (38.4 to 39.5 Celcius) are also generally not serious and can wait until morning to be evaluated, except as indicated below.
- High fevers of 104 (40 Celcius) or higher that quickly come down to 100 or 101 (37.8 to 38.3 Celcius) with the treatment measures below are also generally not serious and can wait until morning, except as indicated below.

I can notice that Ashley is losing some weight as well. Poor thing. She will gain her appetite back when she has fully recovered. Take heart.

So glad that Ashley is better… fever for 4 days is no joke. She does look thinner now, but most important things is she’s healthy and well again 🙂
I read somewhere too that to help the body fight the infection, take lots of vitamin C throughout the night. no worries on overdose as vit c is water soluble. You may want to google for more info 🙂
Good to know ashley is getting well! 🙂
Ashley is daddy’s girl hor.. she must be thrilled to have a pink doll house.
Glad to hear that she is recovering.
Chesty coughs are really hard to cure, especially those darn irritating phlegm. My gals have been having phlegm for about a month too and they are slightly better now. Have you tried giving Ashley pei par koa? I drink it myself and feed them to my gals.
Haiz… how not to worry when our kid is sick le.. 🙁 Glad Ashley is on the path of recovery. Take care. Mommy can fong sum now…
such a relieve to hear Ashley is recovering … let her drink plenty of water Barb, then it will be easier for the phlegm to dilute n go .. u take care too Barb!!
ooh dear…can really feel you even by your writings 🙁
but u gotta take care yrself la…it’s good to udrstd that fever in kids isn’t really that scarry if precaution actions r being taken care of. in a way, her antibody is fighting against the virus & the rising of the temp is part of that symptom 😀
