the skinny

I was flipping the magazine a while ago and I came upon an ad for Gap Kids. It features a pretty 9 year old girl, Kayleigh wearing Gap’s best fitting premium jeans for kids – The Super Skinny.  Guess how much it cost?

gap

RM115  *ouch*  Pretty pricey, don’t you think?  With that money, I rather invest in gold bullion.    Actually, I did not know that retailers are selling skinny jeans for kids.  There are skinny jeans for babies as well.   Though the skinny jeans are quite stylish, do you think the kids would have enough room to do activities that require movements when wearing them?  Would you dress your kids in skinny jeans?

Yeah, they would look pretty cool on tweens with long legs 😉 They’re stretch so should be okay for movement.

Wah…expensive lah. Gwen doesn’t like to wear jeans so skinny jeans is no no for her. I wear skinny jeans too..hehe..it’s quite comfortable actually.

oh Gwen doesn’t like to wear jeans? how come?

  3. I prefer baby dolls. wheeee skirts.. long flowing skirts.. don’t grow up so fast la.. skinny jeans, then painted on jeans ?? sei lor?

hahahhaahah…painted on jeans? over my dead body 🙂 i like to see Ashley in jeans/shorts actually. maybe because that’s what i wear all the time…heheheehehe ..but she loves skirts too.

I think it’s kinda sad… sending the wrong message out to kids. Kids who shudn’t think skinny is ‘in’. Plus, GAP is also selling t-shirts saying “Too cool for school”…

seriously? What’s up with GAP nowadays?

oh i saw that GAP t-shirt at Asianmommy.com. yeah..it is very sad indeed. really don’t know what Gap is trying to do. i wouldn’t buy it that’s for sure. don’t need all these kind of influences on the young minds. what’s next? leather and studs for the tweens/teens?

My tween, Ashleigh, wears skinny jeans, mainly because they fit her perfectly. The other straight leg jeans are too baggy on her. The jeans have some stretch in them, so they are pretty comfy.

ahh…i see. i still haven’t seen any skinny jeans here for kids..except for the Gap ones. the tightest pants Ashley has are leggings 😀 hmm…i wonder how skinny jeans would look on babies. must be rather difficult to take them off to change diapers 🙂

Skinny + Height (tall) goes together. When I wear skinny jeans, i look even shorter/fatter :(((

Yes, I agree with Mott..what is GAP trying to promote???

  8. Blur Mama says:

I saw this in magazine! The first person cross my mind is you, i think you will like it and want to buy it for Ashley. 🙂

  11. Ann says:

Must be those stretchable kind so I guess it’s not soo uncomfortable. I used to have one too but already outgrow! 😉 good for wearing with loose comfy tops.

  12. OMG!! They are awesome max!!!!! They have for younger kids too?

  13. Alesia says:

We hardly shop at GAP ever since Ashley turned 3. too mahal! and I don’t think I’ll get her those skinny jeans, she got the leggings and thighs. enough I suppose.
