I was reading a magazine yesterday and the editors and staff of the magazines talked about their experiences with kind strangers. That brought back memories of what some strangers had done for me. Many years ago while I was in downtown KL, I dropped by purse while alighting from a cab. I was in shock, worried and scared because I didn’t have a handphone then and couldn’t call anyone. There was no money on me too. While pacing up and down looking for my purse, a taxi driver who was waiting nearby saw me and asked me what happened. After I related my problem to him, he gave me RM10 to take a cab home. He wasn’t going my way so he couldn’t send me 🙂 I asked for his contact number so that I can repay him but he said there is no need to do so. I was so touched.
The next day, I received a call from the bank. An office boy has found my purse and he handed it to his superior. Since there was no contact number in my purse, his superior called the bank to notify them and to track me down. I quickly went to the office to get my purse. However, the office boy was already out and I couldn’t thank him personally. His superior handed the purse back to me and everything was intact. Bless these kind souls. I was so lucky to have met these generous and kind people.
What is the nicest thing that a stranger has ever done for you? Have a great weekend peeps!
Wow, you’re lucky Barb!
Imagine the procedures and things you had to do if you really lost your IC/driving license etc etc..
Have a great weekend!
Not all strangers are bad! Some are kind and generous!Barb,u r lucky enough after all that troubles you!!
Barb, you must be doing a lot of good stuff in your normal days, so that your God had sent his guardian to protect you in your bad days.
Yah.. got kind strangers anyhow..
There are good and bad ppl out there. Years ago, someone broke into my car to steal my bag (no valuable item, except for some medicines). The very next day, a good Samaritan found and sent it to the hospital based on the address on my medicine. I received a call from a nurse and got my bag back.
I didn’t know who were the finder and nurse, but I was very grateful to them.
I had a similar experience too. I was 18, naive and careless. While on a jalan2 trip to Melaka with a friend, I dropped my purse (with my IC, cash etc. in it) somewhere in town. Luckily I left my contact number inside and a few days later, I got a call from a Singaporean lady tourist. She found it and couriered it back to me without even using the money in my purse! Ya, may God bless all the kinds souls like her 🙂
I experienced twice with people who have good soul to help me out to replace tyres to my old car. When that happened (tyre puncture), I was headless and didn’t know what to do, and those people came out to help me. I was single that time.
Have a good weekends.
Wow, you were drop dead lucky to able to get your purse back!:)
When I was pregnant with my girl, I had a flat tire on my way back home. It was drizzling and none of the car would pull over to help me, except for a Malay boy. He changed my car’s tyre and remind me to send it to the workshop for a thorough check up afterwards. That’s very very sweet of him!
Thank God for the good people out there. Luckily you were able to get back your purse, Barb. Have a nice weekend.
on your question, sometimes i do get smiles from strangers and i think that’s pretty nice..of course not that kind of ‘ham sup’smile.
I had the same good experience as Gwen’s and Shenny’s mommy where some good samaritans cared to lend a hand to change my flat tyre. They further advised me to drive to the nearest petrol station to have the spare tyre inflated. 🙂
that sounds so unreal to happened in KL but I am glad that you have met such nice ppl many years ago!! May God bless such nice ppl out there.
I never really experience this kind of thing but you’re lucky Aunty Barb to met that kind of generous and good strangers 😀 Be grateful for it!^^
I encountered a similar situation. I left my wallet in the taxi too. But the person who found the wallet – he/she took the money and then sent the IC, ATM cards and other cards back to me.
gave me a ride home
