While growing up, I read a lot of Enid Blyton’s books such as the Magic Faraway Tree, Wishing Chair, Hello Mr. Twiddle and etc. These books were such a delight and I read them over and over again. I wished that I could join the children in the Enchanted Forest 😀
Then I progressed to the Famous Five and the Secret Seven. Love the mysteries. As I got a little older, I read books like Little Women, Little House on the Prairie, Tom Sawyer and Anne of Green Gables.
I can’t wait for Ashley to start reading these books and hope that she would love them as much as I do. What were your favourite books as a child?
Ohhh… I love all Enid Blyton’s books! I missed Little women so so much, it was one of my favourite!;D

Wow, how sentimental! Like you, I have read them all too during my primary school days. You can find them all in the library but now I am not sure you can still find them anymore.
I love Enid Blyton’s books. Some of the books you mentioned, I’ve never read before..hehe.
I still remember Little Women was one of my favourite books, only read it when I was in the secondary school. A bit late, huh?
Loved all of Enid Blyton’s books. Thankfully, my eldest Ashleigh has also read most of them. Hopefully Caitlin will follow suit.
i only remember cinderella, the princess and the frog, snow white and rose red..most of the fairytales and some comics on beano and dandy…and tintin too!

I wasnt into reading when I was a kid… not sure why =_=
But I think its a good habit for kids, way to go!
i remember reading those Enid Blyton’s books too. But I’m quite a lazy type actually. Don’t like reading. During my secondary, Sweet Valley was very popular. Most of my friends collected the series.
Actually, I never read Enid Blyton. I hated reading and watched TV till I was 13. My parents then introduced me to Sweet Dreams and Sweet Valley High, and I’ve been in love with reading since 🙂
Mine is Enid Blyton all the way till now… i still love her books..
I hope Ashley will grow up liking books 😉
Now I love to read Historical and Contemporary Romance, also Human Physiology and Philosophy. When I was younger, I prefer a fantasy novels like Harry Potter and Narnia. I never read Enid Blyton’s books even I know her books were famous like crazy muahahaha…
I loved Enid Blyton books to bits when I was a little girl. Loved Noddy the Policeman too 🙂
omg….. The Magic Faraway Tree was my absolute favourite Enid Blyton book !!! (together with the other 2 books in the series – The Enchanted forest and can’t remember the other one). I re-read the books so many times. Still remember some of the main characters – Moonface, Silky the Fairy, Mr Whatizname etc etc. Just loved the concept of a new land everytime they climbed up the ladder to the clouds!!
