her knee now
Posted on Dec 01, 2010 under ashley | 20 CommentsIt is almost a month after Ashley’s minor surgery on the knee. She had her knee in bandaged for more than 3 weeks and last Monday, the surgeon said I can finally take the bandage off. The wound has dried up.
Taken last week. the area around the wound was shiny because I just put some Bactroban cream on it.
This was taken a while ago. The scab fell off yesterday. It is healing ok but would probably take a while before the scar goes away.
The doctor prescribed this - Mederma , a soothing topical gel for scars. It is to be applied twice a day for the first 3 months and once a day for the following 3 months.
Ashley is not in pain anymore but she is still quite conscious of the scar. She does not like me to wet it when she’s in the shower and asked to wear skirts or long pants whenever we go out. She said she doesn’t like anyone looking at her knee

It was healing well. The scar will sure go away very soon. Must remember to apply the gel religiously for Ashley.

Glad to see it’s healing well. Tell Ashley not to worry about the scar but to listen to doc’s and mummy’s every single advise. Give her a hug for being so brave all these while

yes, mederma is for scar n keloids. i think the cream will be good.

Oh…its healing very well. Good there are creams these days to help with the healing of the scar.
Soon the scar will fade…and Ashley will be in shorts once again.

wah..looks good!!! I’m sure she’ll heal in no time. My scar, 27 years ago, already faded. ^.^
