During our recent road trips, we stopped by Kampar for lunch. We haven’t been to Kampar since we were kids so it was really fun to explore this town that is very near to Ipoh.
On our first visit, we had lunch in Restaurant Yau Kee. My friends brought us there and I was delighted to know that they are famous for the Curry Chicken Bread as well as other dishes. This is the first time I tried the curry chicken bread and it is delicious. The bread smells so good but I did not have any as I don’t take carbs.

On our 2nd trip to Kampar which was 2 weeks after the lunch at Yau Kee Restaurant, we headed to Jia Restaurant for lunch. We were surprised that they also have Curry Chicken Bread.
In my opinion, this version from Jia Restaurant is better. The curry chicken is very aromatic and there is a half a chicken inside the soft fluffy bread. The portion is definitely bigger. Jia Restaurant is highly popular as the place was packed even at 2.30pm. Tour buses always make a pit stop at this restaurant. Food is nice and reasonably priced. I was told that the locals in Kampar patron this restaurant for food so I guess it must be good. Jia Restaurant is also very famous for its Char Siew buns but they were sold out before we could try them. Will definitely be back.
I forgot the price for the curry chicken bread. I think it is around rm35 to rm38 each. A must-try when in Kampar.
