My lil’ missy is into the “picking own items to wear” phase now. Whenever we go out, she insists on wearing this pair of shoes which my MIL bought. When we asked her to wear a different one, she would say no and even throw some tantrums 🙁 Been happening for the past one week now. Normally I would pick out the shoes for her as it depends on the outfit she’s wearing. This pair of shoes is lovely with stars and some blings blings but it’s so hard to match her clothes with them. Orange just does not go with many things, I’m afraid. Yeah….I am fussy 😀 So Ashley has been wearing mismatched outfit now…..red top, jeans, and orange shoes O_O I know, I know. By letting her make her own decision, it would increase her independence. Sigh. I just want her to look nice and appropriately dressed.
Just yesterday, she wanted to pick out her own bedsheets too. She told me she did not want the floral bedsheet that is on her bed now. Instead she wants the Barney one and asked me to go get it from the cupboard 🙂 I am sure all children go through this phase. Just how do you deal with it? Could you please share?

LOL!!! My sons still in this stage la. Since beginning of the year, they choose what pant they want to wear and shoe. Shoe also only that particular pair. 🙁 Which is sometime really hard to match what they are wearing too.
Sometime they listen to me, sometime they insist. 🙁
haha, be prepared for some mismatched coordination which they think is cool
so have u change to barney bedsheet ? LOL !
hahah…i just let my kids choose what they wanna wear… even if it’s a ratty ol tee…
it’s more like they wanting to be independent liow…
aiyo, my girl is the same too. So headache. She keeps on wearing the same clothes all the time.
Problem now, she refuses to wear uniform because uniform is boring.
Nowadays kids… my girl is acting just the same, clothes, shoes… she wanna pick them!
Ooh they do that? I will have to wait for my turn, so yes, please share so that i can learn from all the mommies here.
guess they are trying to be independent? hehe.. i got my own taste di, dunwan mommi’s choice 🙂
My Ashley is also like that. She wants to pick out her own clothing and shoes. I’d let her do it provided it’s not a horrendous combo…otherwise I will refuse to let her out of the house….I don’t care if she throws a tantrum or not….I will get it my way if her combo isn’t so ‘on’ if you know what I mean 😛
i gave my kids 2-3 choices for them to choose..this way, its matching and at the same time, its their decision.
forgot to inform you that I have a tag for you on my blog.. join in the fun when u are free.
