Going Through Another Phase

My lil’ missy is into the “picking own items to wear” phase now. Whenever we go out, she insists on wearing this pair of shoes which my MIL bought. When we asked her to wear a different one, she would say no and even throw some tantrums 🙁 Been happening for the past one week now. Normally I would pick out the shoes for her as it depends on the outfit she’s wearing. This pair of shoes is lovely with stars and some blings blings but it’s so hard to match her clothes with them. Orange just does not go with many things, I’m afraid. Yeah….I am fussy 😀 So Ashley has been wearing mismatched outfit now…..red top, jeans, and orange shoes O_O I know, I know. By letting her make her own decision, it would increase her independence. Sigh. I just want her to look nice and appropriately dressed.
So far, she has been ok when it comes to clothing. She would wear whatever I choose. Once or twice, she would tell me that she wants to wear a certain top and when I explained that the place we are going is going to be cold so she has to wear long sleeves, she said ok 😀 I wonder if she would insists on wearing those NFL Jerseys when she sees one. If she is a boy, I won’t mind getting one for her 🙂

Just yesterday, she wanted to pick out her own bedsheets too. She told me she did not want the floral bedsheet that is on her bed now. Instead she wants the Barney one and asked me to go get it from the cupboard 🙂 I am sure all children go through this phase. Just how do you deal with it? Could you please share?

LOL!!! My sons still in this stage la. Since beginning of the year, they choose what pant they want to wear and shoe. Shoe also only that particular pair. 🙁 Which is sometime really hard to match what they are wearing too.

Sometime they listen to me, sometime they insist. 🙁

My Ashley is also like that. She wants to pick out her own clothing and shoes. I’d let her do it provided it’s not a horrendous combo…otherwise I will refuse to let her out of the house….I don’t care if she throws a tantrum or not….I will get it my way if her combo isn’t so ‘on’ if you know what I mean 😛

i gave my kids 2-3 choices for them to choose..this way, its matching and at the same time, its their decision.
