Last week, hubs suggested that we try the famous Haji Samuri Kajang Satay which has a branch at the Awan Besar rest stop along Kesas Highway. It’s quite near our house actually 🙂

Hubs ordered some chicken and beef satays. The satays were not bad but unfortunately they were cold. Would be better if they reheated them.
The satay came with a generous bowl of peanut sauce, chilli, cucumbers and some ketupat. No onions though 🙁
Hj. Samuri’s satay come in large chunk of meat and ost RM0.60 a stick. There is a whole range of other kinds of meat such as deer and rabbit. ……….eeewwwwww. I can only stomach chicken satay. Hubs think their satay is the best and will be going back for more. One thing that puts me off is that there are many cats roaming around the eatery. Some even sat on the chairs and jumped onto the table to eat the leftovers *slaps forehead*
I normally ta pao and bring home.. heat up with the oven then only eat.. yes, the satay is nice geh.. 😀 but got to pay toll to come back.. hehee.
I normally eat the the Taipan branch or PKNS shah alam branch. cos they have air-con there. Its tasty n i had tried all the variuos type of meat..hehehehe
i love haji samuri’s satay too & i will usually tapau.
🙁
it’s been ages since i last dipped satay in kacang sauce n makan leh!!!
Their satay is really good. We usually tapao too. 😀
I think the cats would have scared me off! I am the kind of person who cannot enjoy her food if the environment is not conducive enough 🙂 I know, very “tai siu jeh”
I can’t be sure but I MIGHT have been to this place before once, and once is enough for me, thanks. I don’t care how good it tastes, if the place is yucky, I ain’t goin’ back LOL.
Believe it or not, i can smell the satay from here. May be my stomach is hungry now. Btw, RM0.60 per stick is considered reasonable, just that the roaming cats are quite annoying.
yummy… satay is one of my favourite! i tried kajang satay once, when i was still studying in serdang. after reading your post, am craving for it now 🙂
emm ya, i too prefer “no pets around” in any eatery.
They seems to have many branches all around. Haha…I’ve came across one at the Dengkil highway rest area. We normally eats at the Senawang branch. And same like you, can only stomach the chicken satay. haha
Haji Samuri satay is my favourite too, till I don’t eat other ‘brands’ :p I usually go to the branch at DU.
yes, we love this Satay Samuri too!! Last time we use to go to Highway there to “ta pow” back and eat, then we try twice at DU, then one time we even went to Kajang just for their famous satay!! Now, when we like to eat just pack from those stall nearby our house, taste not bad too.
Normally we dun dine in there, prefer tao pao like others too..No doubt the satays are meaty n juicy..hehhehe
i love satay too! hmmm.. need to grab the fren’s offer to go over to kajang for their femes satay! yum yum!
I know this stall! When I was pregnant with Sherilyn, I craved for this satay very much. I ate it very often since I passed by the R&R everyday on the way back from work. Now that I’ve read your post, I am craving for it again 😀
I don’t understand why some people have a food blog when they have a very narrow range of foods that they will eat. OK, so you wouldn’t eat deer or rabbit, but no need to “eeeewww” about it. Apparently there are people who DO eat deer or rabbit; it’s just like any meat to them. And like I’ve said, why bother reviewing food when you are fussy about what you eat. On top of that, it’s satay we’re talking about here, but you’ll eat only chicken satay. *slaps forehead* Why not just let someone else do the review la!
