I saw this cute sandwich idea on Pinterest a couple of days ago. I made one with wholemeal bread for Ashley to take to school yesterday. When I picked her up from school, she told me excitedly about the Heart Bread I put in her snack box. “Thank you mommy for the nice heart bread with sprinkles”, she said. I love surprising her whenever I get the chance 🙂 Will try out other shapes next time.

It is quite delicious if you toast it with butter and sprinkle over. My kids enjoy it like that. 🙂
aww.. so sweet of her :*) how come she’s always mean to me 🙁
sweet!
sorry…asking a stupid question – how did you make out the heart shape? you have a mould? and how did you stick the sprinkles onto the bread?
Dinah, I have a heart shaped cookie cutter. I put one square bread at the bottom and butter it. Then another piece of bread with the heart shape cut-out on top. Fill the sprinkles onto the ‘hollow’ heart shape. Don’t think the sprinkles really stick well but just be careful not to topple the snack box 🙂
Aww…that’s so sweet..in every sense of the word.
What’s this Pinterest I keep reading about on your blog. Got to go check it out one day. I’m so out of touch.
Germaine, Pinterest is a virtual pin board. The members would pin stuff on the board and those who like them can click LIKE or repin it in their own boards. Check out http://www.pinterest.com 🙂
Oh… how sweet, my girl too will love it, she likes colourful sprinkles and decor.^^
Ah… so that is how you craft the heart shape. I’ll try it out for my girl, she would definitely loves it too.
That’s very nice. I thought there was only 1 slice of bread. Next time I’ll try this but instead of colorful sprinkles, I will use cheese or kaya – my girls’ favorite. Thanks for this idea 🙂
Yes, this is sweet and I will try out for my girls. Thanks for sharing it.
sooo nice…i should do it for my kids tooo…
Good idea, I should do the same for my girl since I still have some leftover sprinkles.
HEY!!! You know what?? I just did something similar today!!! But instead of heart shape i use other mould. 🙂
I have to go back this evening, see my boys give any comment or not. kekekekkeek
Very nice.Wish to make for Yan Yan but I scare the sprinkles would topple all over and mess up in the class later..
a nice surprised for Ashley. So nice….
Nice and thoughtful mom you are! I’m sure your kid will remember this for a long time to come!
