when life gives you lemons

l6

….. instead of making lemonade, why not make Lemon Foot Scrub?ย  I decided to give it a try after seeing the steps online ๐Ÿ™‚

l1

Here are the Ingredients :-

1/2 cup sea salt
1/2 cup olive oil/vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
1/2 teaspoon orange zest

l3

Pour salt into a bowl and slowly drizzle in the oil.ย  You may not need all that is called for in the recipe.

l2

Then add in 1 tsp of lemon zest and 1 tsp of orange zest

l4

Mix well.

l5

Pour the mixture into an airtight container.ย  I got some Spice Jar from Ikea just for that.ย  Made a few bottles for my guinea pigs dear friends recently.

Scrubs are great for exfoliating the skin.ย  Its rough texture helps to remove toxins andย  dead skin that may be blocking the pores.ย  Let me know if you want to whip up this easy DIY Lemon Sea Salt Foot Scrub.ย ย  Happy weekend everyone!

That’s such a nice little homemade gift! I might think of making some as Christmas gifts. How long will they last and will I need to refrigerate them?

Hey Germaine, I think it’s better not to keep it for too long…preferably 3 weeks the max? I was afraid that it would turn bad but my mom said salt won’t as in the olden days, ppl used salt to marinate stuff ๐Ÿ™‚ I didn’t refrigerate mine. Just keep it in a cool place ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Your friends must feel excited to receive your thoughtful DIY gifts.

Btw.. Where did you buy the sea salt?

Yvonne, I bought the sea salt from the kedai runcit. They are kinda coarse. I saw similar ones at Cold Storage and they cost over RM10 for a packet. Of course they are in bigger packet. I paid 70 sen for a packet ๐Ÿ™‚ Not sure what’s the difference though. Could be one is local and the other is imported?

Nice idea. Can’t wait to try it on a lazy noon. I think a few drops of kafir lime juice will add extra zest!
