Last Sunday, I decided to wear my new pair of wedges when we were out shopping at Mid Valley. Little did I know that my new comfortable shoes started to give me problems after walking 2 hours in them. I got blisters on the top part of my foot from the leather straps. Urrgghh! I thought I could go on walking without doing anything but the blisters were painful. I quickly rummaged through my bag to find a band aid and once I opened it, I discovered that it was a band aid for kids.
No choice but to put it on and walked around the mall for another 2 hours. A grown up with a striking blue teddy bear band aid…hehehehe. Anyway, just how do you break in new shoes?
Barb, even I get one good leather shoe from Aldo, also give me the same problem just like you…blisters!
some said use wax.
for me, over time, no more blisters .
I hate wearing new shoes! hahah! Yeap, give me those blisters all the time.
Me too will get blisters wearing new shoes. My told me can use candle to wax the shoe.
I think it’s quite common? I remember having the same problem wearing almost all the new shoes I bought.. So just get ready plasters all the time, haha!
I don’t wear new shoes for a long shopping trip. Just wear for short trips to get used to it. (unless it’s original Crocs! never had a problem with those)
Same as you did, Barb. Use plaster to ‘protect’ the skin which come in contact the most caused by friction :p For my case, my hindfoot always got blister when I wear pumps.
I had blister with new shoes too. Hate it. haha
Wear new shoes for when you don’t have to do alot of walking just yet. You need to slowly break into them. Wear them to run quick errands whcih does not require to walk in them for more than an hour. Once you wear them in, then it’s be much safer for you to wear them for 2hr shopping sprees! 🙂
Blister on foot sure cause lots of pain while walking.Luckily you found a band aid in your bag.
cute pair of feet! hehe…. ya most of the time I hear people use wax to coat the rough edges.
bring the shoe back to the store!
Argh! Blisters. I hate them too but do try wax. It does help. But do keep plasters handy. Some shoes are more ‘stubborn’ than the other.
my hubby always tell me to bite the shoes first so it wont bite you! but like real only! lol…i’ve always worn them and tahan till it doesnt hurt anymore which is why my feet got scars. 🙁
it’s common, so the best strategy is always to have band aid in your bag at all times.
You know, i like to collect cute plaster, and my house most plaster are with cartoon. kekekkeke..at least not so boring ma, unless there are some serious cut.
I break in new shoes by suffering. That’s why I’m in my flip flops most of the time 🙂
