Last week, my best friends and I travelled to Hoi An for a getaway. There were 8 of us including a friend of one of my best friends. 2 other best friends who are in Singapore did not join us this time.
This is my first time visiting Vietnam and I fell in love with the old charm of Hoi An. I love the aesthetically-pleasing old buildings painted in bright yellow, blue or green. Hoi An is really an Instagrammer heaven. It is also very interesting to get to know their culture which is a mixture of Chinese, Japanese and French. I love to look at the designs of their houses as they are narrow but long and high.
The 18th Century Japanese bridge in Hoi An ancient town. A very mystical bridge created by the Japanese who lived in Hoi An as a way to reach the Chinese quarter across the water. The bridge features the sculptures of two dogs and two monkeys representing the Chinese years in which many Japanese Emperors were born along with the fact that the building of the bridge began in the year of the dog and was completed in the year of the monkey.

Hoi An is filled with lanterns everywhere. I love them all!
Besides spending time around the Old Town of Hoi An, we also went to visit a few places in Danang. Will share more of that later.
It was one of the best times of my life with my besties in Hoi An. We laughed, chatted, walked and shopped non-stop. I think we should do a getaway once a year.
We all bought the same design t-shirt to wear on the last day of our trip.
Stay tuned for more about our Hoi An adventure.
