Where To Eat In Ipoh

This is a continuation post of my recent trip back to Ipoh.  Since it was only a one-night stay in Ipoh, we did not get to eat at as many places as we want.  As soon as we arrived, it was lunch time and we hurried over to Little Genting which is just a short distance from Bedrock Hotel Ipoh, where we stayed.   Lunch wasn’t fantastic and we had Bak Kut Teh, fried chicken cutlet, chee cheong fun with mushroom sauce and wan tan mee.

For dinner, head over to our favourite food court – Ipoh Gourmet Square (Aneka Selera / Tung Koo Ting). Here’s what we ordered.

Steamed chicken with bean sprout and kangkung squid

Grilled stingray

The aftermath of the dinner (burp).  We also ordered satay and the famous curry mee but did not take a photo before eating.  As usual for my bowl of curry mee, there is no noodle except beansprouts, chicken and char siu.

The next day, we had a quick breakfast in the hotel and then head over to Old Town to visit the Harry Potter Cafe.  Coffee was good at the cafe and missy had a donut.   After that, we walked around old town for a bit and then went to visit Kek Lok Temple as there is a new attraction there.  Will post more later on that.

By the time we were done, it was closed to lunchtime and we had the most delicious duck meal in Ipoh – Sun Yeong Wai Roast Duck in Ampang.  SYW was established in 1976 and its main shop is in Jalan Mustapha Al-Bakri (city center,  close to Lou Wong Nga Choy Kai).  I love their flavourful char siew.

There are many good places to eat in Ipoh but we did not manage to visit these places.  Will go again when we make a trip to Ipoh again, hopefully soon.
