The 15 days of Chinese New Year celebration is over. The days seem to whizz by too quickly. Do bear with me for a while as I am still in a celebration mood.
On the night of Day 8, we celebrated the Jade Emperor Festival (Tien Gong) and had prayers around midnight.
All the cakes, desserts, fruits, roast chicken and roast pork for the praying ceremony.
Everything laid out on the table.
On Day 14, we went to the Taman Tun’s market to watch the lion dance performance. It is a yearly affair. First performance was by the above white and green lion on stilts.
Followed by the lighting of the mega long firecrackers at one of the entrance of the market. The 2nd performances were by the 2 yellow lions which went to every floor and some of the stalls. We love watching the lion dance every year.
Barb, you also got pai tin kong, mine much simpler than yours. I only offer fruits and cakes.
This year is the first year we did not go back to my in-law’s for the Jade Emperor Prayer coz Ethan refused to skip class! >_<
My boys love Lion Dance and they caught it 5 times at 1U this year.
