These 4 have been with me for the past 16 years.
There were the first in my life.
I have done so many things with the 4 of them all these years.
Together, we have gone to many places as well as travelled across the world.
The 4 became 3 last week when it slipped out of my hand and dropped to the floor.
I can still remember the sound and it broke my heart. We have been together for 16 years *sobs*
They are my beloved Corelle Bowls in the sweet blue flower design. I doubt it that they have this design anymore. *sigh* It’s just not the same now. Each time I open the cupboard, I can only see 3.

So sorry to hear that. I love Corelle too. They have the cutest designs and really of good quality.
Yours does have a cute design and it’s really sad to let one of them go.
Awww…. I can understand perfectly how you felt when it fell off and ‘open flower’ on the floor.
I guess if we wanna have them with us forever, then they will have to be a display set stashed nicely in the cabinet! 😛

My wife is just like you. She too treasures all her old plates…and same experience, one day I heard a “piaang…”! Thats it, one of her favorite plates game over.
I could see her eyes moist she holding looking at it fondly, been with her before marriage too.
When we migrated here 22 years ago…it was only when I opened the big crate I was shocked to discover she had sneaked in her 70 year old Singer sewing machine, hand power, makes sounds like KTM train arriving station, given by her mom.
And that granite stone bowl for pounding chillies. Holy Smoke!
I wanted to buy her the latest in sewing machines, no way. She loves that bulky, noisy old thing. Only yesterday sewed a new pajama pants for me too.
I guess women more sentimental then men, ha ha…guess thats why she has not traded me in, ha ha. Lee.
So sorry to hear about it. Don’t be too sad ok. Buy another set, nicer one hor. 🙂
UWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! I feel for you. I really do. My SIL BROKE my correlle too (2 big bowls)..and I tell you..she couldn’t even tell me properly and apologise. My heart broke when I found out through my MIL. They were all so nonchalent about it.
Sighhh..but u know what? Oz has MANY older designs..going cheap. So, IF I see this small blue flower I will get it for you!

hey, strangely enough, I have these bowls too, and very old as well (belonged to my mum who has since passed on). Yes, should be at least 15-20 years ago. I do remember seeing it somewhere, if I am not wrong at Takashimaya Spore. Will check it out and let you know. Take care
oh wow, i didn’t know they were 20 years old…hehehheh. i got them in the early 90’s when i was staying in toronto. so when i came back, they followed me to ipoh and then kl. do let me know if you can find it at Takashimaya 😀 thanks very much.

hey lina. you saw this design in spore? takashimaya as mentioned by another reader above? if yes then i’ll get my friends or relatives to look it up for me…hehehehe. i thought since it’s an old design, the corelle factory in the US would have them. I’ve checked some websites but don’t see this blue flower design anymore 🙁

Hi. I am using this same Corelle set. Love the flowers. There are plenty of this design here in Singapore (at OG Department store). I just added to my collection during the CNY. Bought it from OG in People’s Park (Chinatown) area. Let me know if I can be of help.
