Here is something to beat the hot days…apple drink 😀 I saw this from Cynthia‘s blog and decided to try it out. Very easy recipe.
Peel off apples and chop them into small pieces. I added some “mut cho”.
Boil these pieces in water for 2 hours.
Let them cool off after 2 hours. Serve
my not-so-nice looking apples
some “mut cho”
boil them in a pot
my soothing cup of apple drink
I like to boil this too. Very yummy!!
good idea especially after walloping so many durians!!
ah… I see your corningware collection. can drink cold or not ?
u can do the same for pears too.
(i learnt that from some chinese medicine shop.. they added pears and some of those grassy herbal stuff to the leong sui)
ahh…i’ll try the pears next time. what’s those grassy herbal stuff?
i need that now.so hot
er.. can’t remember what it’s called.
i used to tumpang my ex-bf’s sis to buy from her hubby’s “yeok choi poh”.
she will pick all sorts of stuff – more than half of which which i didn’t even know existed. 😛
the more common and simple one would be “loh hon kor” + dried longan + “mut cho”. … good for sore throat. 🙂
ahh..thanks. will get lo hon kor and longan for my next project 😉 hey, u also must drink more of this and take care of yourself.
Oh nice. will try them too. 🙂
Gwen loves apples…I should try this recipe one day. Thanks. 😀
Eh, my favorite ‘leong shui’!!! I’ve tried with pears and winter melon too 🙂
Nice drink..what is mut cho??
nice hoh… the very senang drink also… I have sugar cane with the red leaves today… heheh
add some pears to it so its cooling as pears are cooling fruit. but not much for apples though..
Thanks for sharing Barb.
can add “shut yee”/snow fungus too =)
almost forgotten about this tong sui liao. must do it again soon, hehe….
mut cho can get in herbal shop???
hmm i wonder how it would taste if we put pear, apple n mutcho together…
btw, should we chill it? cos i dont really like hot.. maybe room temp ok. oh..when u boil for 2 hours, u need to keep on adding water??
Looks tasty. So it’s sweet? How many mut cho to add to how many apples??
Yup, loh hon koa is very good for the throat. You can also try pear + snow fungus + mak choa, also very ‘yun’.
