We went to Pomelosville for the weekend with our friends as they wanted to eat some of Ipoh’s famous mouth-watering food :). Spent a night at the Tower Regency Hotel, the newest hotel in Ipoh 🙂 We rented a 2-bedroom apartment for rm264.00 per night. Not bad eh? Comes with 2 baths too. We ate so much this weekend…there was never a hungry moment 😀 Will update more later. Our friends wanted to buy pomeloes so we brought them to the famous pomeloes stalls near the Sam Poh Tong temple. I have never bought any pomeloes before so needless to say, I was short-changed. My mom said the pomeloes I got (1 big and 1 small) are not heavy which means they are not juicy 0.0 I also paid rm40 for both *faint*
Ashley posing with big pomelo
wah..very giant pomelo leh… normally i dont buy from there, i go to one shop near the pak kok teng there to buy… less than 20rm definitely… it is opposite the Oriental theatre, (if u can still remember) the indian bakeries there…

welcome back. so , where you go for your famous mouth watering food in Ipoh? 🙂 see whether I’ve been there or not…haha
wow.. that a BIG pamelo.
That pomelo is really BIG! Ashley is always very koo leng jeng kwai (cheeky) eh? And oh my, I miss Loh Wong bean sprouts, hor fun and chicken. I must eat that when I go bk to Ipoh this mth end.
i’ve been to the same place to buy pomelo once. didn’t know how to choose as well. later on, my friend says, if u want a ripe pomelo, choose those yellowish skin. then, you can eat it in the next 2 days 🙂
recently i bought a pomelo from the Tiong Bahru wet market, not half as big as the one Ashley is holding and was charged SGD5.00 for it.
i’m sure i was “thonged” for it coz the night before i saw some at the Cold Storage – peeled – and cost around SGD4.
but nvm, i bought it anyway coz i was homesick for ipoh food & fruits…
recently I find large green fragrant bombshell of fruit. Eh, wah! 😉 I ask Hui san, what is this fruit. He said smell like dragon fruit but no sure. I ask uncle Tuan who say, oh this pomelo, small one, no fruit, no flavor yet. Wait for to get bigger.
I can no longer wait to try pomelo. It smell like candle I buy at Pottery Barn. Any good recipies? Tuan not know any?
