A little surprise for me ;)

This morning when I was having my brunch, the postman rang my doorbell. There was a little package for me and I was so surprised to see that it was from dear Annie.  When I opened it up, I let out a scream.

Annie has sent me a belated birthday pressie and it was the beautiful “Spring Fever” bracelet from Mom’s Little Treasure Box.  I think Annie has sixth sense because that is the bracelet which I intend to buy next 😀 I really wonder how she knew I love Spring Fever because there are so many types of bracelets at Mom’s Little Treasure Box.

Trying it out.  Pretty eh?

Thanks very much again, Annie!  *muaks*  Now I have 2 lovely bracelets to wear during CNY 😉

Got Poop?

The last time Ashley did her poopie business was on Sunday.  This means that for the past few days, she has not done any poopie business.  Being a chronic worrier, I started to panic. She has been drinking lots of water and eating fruits everyday so I didn’t really know why she just did not poop.  So today (the third day), I bought a big papaya and a bottle of Sunsweet Prune Juice 😉  Gave her a cup of Prune juice during lunch and then half a papaya around 3pm.  Half an hour later, she told me she wanted to poo.  Ahhh..those magic words are like music to my ears!   At the same time, I was also rather afraid that she would have to strain herself since she did not go for a few days.  Didn’t want her to develop any phobia but luckily it went ‘smoothly’ 😉  Thank God for prune juice and papaya!!  I have never been so happy to see poop in my life *grins*

Her first soda :)

Ashley is 3 years and 8 months old now and I have never let her try any soft drinks before. She only had those cultured drinks, orange/apple juice, milo and Ribena.  She’s not very fond of Ribena though.  Last Sunday we had lunch at Michaelangelo’s in Sunway Pyramid and her meal comes with a free cup of coke.  So, we let her try some of it.  After some coaxing, she took a small sip.  She quickly closed her eyes and said, “Ewwwww….it is spicy“. muahahahahahahah.  When we asked her to take some more, she said, “No thank you“.  Guess she is just not into soft drinks, at least for now 😉

my burpday ;)

It’s my burpday today and didn’t do anything special.   So old already…no need to celebrate anymore 😉  Ashley sang me a birthday song, after much prompting from her daddy 😉  After the song, she said “surpwise mommy“.  Funny!  We didn’t go anywhere to celebrate because it’s Monday.  After dinner at home, hubs took us out for some coffee at my fav place – Starbucks.  I indulged in a choc chip muffin which I shared with Ashley 🙂

i love muffins, mommy

shopping for school’s shoes

Today, we went out for some retail therapy at Sunway Pyramid as we had to get a pair of school shoes for Ashley.  Boy, let me tell you.  It is so hard to find a pair of shoes when you need one.  First stop was Bata because I like Bubblegummers shoes.  Saw a pair of sneakers but they didn’t have any in Ashley’s size.  Then we went to Jusco Kid’s section.  There were many sneakers – Barbie, Pooh Bear, KikiLala and what-have-yous BUT the prices of those shoes are crazy.  Between rm69 to rm89 for a pair of non-leather sneakers.  Can you believe that?  Of course we didn’t get her any from there.  We checked out a few more places like Parkson and some kids’ stores but couldn’t find any.

Then the hubs said his legs are killing him (he says that all the time when we go shopping *rolls eyes* ) and finally, we spotted Studio R.  We looked at some of the shoes on sales and finally spotted a pair of Puma canvas shoe.  Not sneakers type but the hubs said let’s get her to try it and if it fits, we’ll take it because he doesn’t want to waste any more time 🙂  This is the Puma shoe we got for Ashley.  Comes in only 2 colours – Black & Blue or Black & Pink.  Yes, the lil’ missy chose the one with pink 🙂   Looks pretty strange when she wears it with her school uniform O_O

Comfy shoes for school

She likes it so much that she didn’t even want to take it off

Dressing Up My Windows The Cheap & Easy Way

My wet kitchen window looks out to my neighbour’s kitchen.  I did not install any curtains or blinds there and have been looking for some window decals to give my kitchen some privacy.  I went to some DIY stores but couldn’t find any.  So when I was in Daiso on their opening day, I was thrilled to find the window decoration sheet.  They were many designs and I choose the cherry blossom one.  Only cost $5 a packet as usual and I got 2.

It is very easy to apply and of course, I got the DIY man in the house to do it 😀  Just wipe the windows clean and spray some water onto to hold the stickers. Once the sticker has been affixed onto the window, use a ruler to press onto it to release excess water and air bubbles.

Voila, my cherry blossom window stickers which also add an interesting design element to the kitchen.  On our 2nd trip to Daiso, I couldn’t find these stickers anymore.  I wanted to get some for the windows in room downstairs too.  Hopefully Daiso will bring in more stocks.

Guess Who Dropped By?

We had some visitors over the weekend.  Some really cute ones too.  Do you recognise them?

Is this kor kor?

Is this Di Di ?

And their Cheh Cheh

Can you tell now who they are?  Yes, they are Chin Nee‘s little monsters (that’s what Chin Nee calls them) but they don’t look like one to me.  The twins are so adorable and Ashley really enjoyed seeing them.  She also had a good time playing with Qiqi cheh cheh. I even had the chance to see Chin Nee breastfeeding the twins 😀  Boy, they sure look hungry and could not wait to latch onto mommy.  What a beautiful sight.  Chin Nee is incredible.  I don’t how she could take care of the kids, the house, blogs and even bake.  Check out what she brought me –

Heavenly delicious pineapple tarts. I’m so lucky eh?

Thanks again for coming, Chin Nee.  So great to see all of you and nice chatting time too.  Hubs ended up eating most of the pineapple tarts.  Ashley likes them too but she only eats the cookie part.

She cried a little….

My baby cried a little in school today 🙁  I think it’s because she was afraid of seeing an old man standing at the door.  My little social butterfly is pretty timid and is afraid of men.  The old man is actually the grandfather of one of her classmates.  She clinged to me and asked me to sit beside her.  I told her that I had to go buy some noodles and will be back later (yup, gotta change from coffee to noodles) 😀  She said ok but when I was about to leave, she started sobbing a bit and hugged me.  I also wanna cry…wawawawawawawawa.  I tried not to look stress or worry because this would make the situation worse.  So I tried to divert her attention to her friends and asked her to take out her books.  Her mood changed immediately 🙂  Then the parents started to leave the classroom and I told her I’ll be back soon.  She said ok 🙂  Keeping my fingers crossed that she’ll be a good girl.

my lil’ treasure

When I first saw this gorgeous bracelet at Dinah‘s new shop, Mom’s Little Treasure Box, I immediately fell in love with it.  I love the colour combination on this bracelet.  So vintage-looking eh?  I have a similar African Turqoise pendant so this lovely bracelet is a perfect match. It is named Freedom. Mom’s Little Treasure Box has a range of beautiful bracelets, all handmade with love by Dinah.  Hop over and check it out.  I just saw a few that I really like *rubbing my palms*

Nice?

This is how it looks like on my wrist (pls excuse the fat hand)

When Ashley saw me taking photo of my hand, she wanted to do the same. So, she put on her colourful bracelet and asked me to snap it too..hahahahahahahh.  Vainpot just like her mommy 😉

Her first day in kindy

My baby is finally going to school.  My, how time flies eh?  I was so nervous on Sunday night that I couldn’t sleep well.  Kept waking up every few hours.  Yesterday morning, I was also anxiously getting her ready for school that I buttoned my top wrongly….hehehehe.  Didn’t realise it until I reached home.  We only spent about an hour at the school yesterday because it was orientation day.  I did not know it would be so short.   Anyway, Ashley was pretty excited and did not want to go home.

Ashley getting ready for school.  It’s a pity that they don’t have any skirt uniform for her stage.  Bet she’ll look cute in it.  She only gets to wear one next year.

Actual school begins today and I was pretty worried how she would react when I leave her in school.  I accompanied her for about 15 mins and she was busy playing with her friends.  Before I left, I told her that I would be out getting some coffee and I will come back for her later.  She said ok 🙂  So, I came home and did some work.  Then I went over about 30 mins before the school ends and spied on Ashley.  I saw her sitting on her chair, listening to the teacher.  When the school ended, I went upstairs to get her (The school is operating from a double storey bungalow).  She was so happy to see me and said, “Mommy, you are back” 😀  I asked her teacher how Ashley was in school and if she cried for me.  The teacher said she didn’t cry but talked non-stop and walked around the class *pengsan*

Oh, there are 8 students in class and she’s the only girl 🙂  The teacher said some parents would only send their kids to kindy in February as there are too many holidays in January.  So, hopefully she’ll get a girl classmate 😀

In class with some of her boyfriends 😀
