Have you seen this before? It’s a vegetable but it looks like a guava to me ๐ It is called the Buddha’s Palm.
These peculiar looking vege are being sold at the market near my place. According to the vegetable seller it is best cooked with dried shrimps. Just cut them into small pieces, saute with garlic and dried shrimps. Just add a dash of salt, a little water and cornflour. The Buddha’s Palm easily absorb the flavour of the ingredients. It is a simple dish and very tasty too. Ashley likes it a lot ๐ Here is the result –

I love to boil soup with this ‘fhatt sau kua’. You can also stir fry it with fish balls or chicken / pork, taste just as good ๐
Yes, same as health freak mommy, i like to boil this as soup, just add some carrot and some red dates, it taste yummy, my boys love it too!

We LOVE THESE! In the U.S. they call them Chayote Squash…I love to stir fry them with other meats and veggies….and they go great in soups too ๐ yum!
come come come. my FIL has SO many in his backyard i eat until jelak. make soup, ‘tai-yee-ma-ga-lui’, stir fry, you name it.
