Ashley had to go for a minor surgery to drain abscess from her right knee. I blogged about it here and here. After the surgery, we had to go back to the hospital every day for the dressing of the wound. We did that for one month. Then when Ashley need not have to do the dressing anymore, she was prescribed Menderma – a topical gel for scar and it has to be applied for 6 months. This is how the scar looks like now….
I guess the scar would not go away. A little reminder of what a small mosquito bite can become.
Scar on the knee not so obvious, still ok. But poor Ashley and people around her accompanying her to the hospital for the dressings and all the ordeal. And all those cost you 8K ? OMG !
What kind of monster mosquito was that?! I just read the previous posts. Poor Ashley, had to go through all that. I know how heart wrenching it must be for you. The scar doesn’t look that bad. The 8k looks worse.
I recalled the wound on Ashley’s knee, it was huge. I didn’t expect a mozzie bite would become that bad also.
RM8k doesn’t do damage that much to you compares to Ashley’s mozzie bite, I guess. As long as our loved ones recover, RM8 or RM8k doesn’t really matter.
Hmmm, but luckily the scar wasn’t so obvious la…
My girl once had a fall on the street when she was 10.. till now the scar still shows on her knee.. but hers is not 8K.. just 100rm plus.. 🙂
Whenever my girls keep scratching the mozzie bites on their hands and legs, I’ll tell them about Ashley’s story to scare them and to stop them from scratching 😀
I think as she grows, the scar would become less obvious. Just be thankful that it’s not on her face 🙂
Hmm,the scar not so obvious…as long as ur baby gal is alright, RM8K doesn’t really matter here.

oh dear… the poor girl… I read somewhere that wheat germ oil can help to reduce scarring.

thank god that scar is not that obvious and on the knee. Maybe it was not a mosquito bite earlier.. but whatever it is, good to hear she’s all well now.
i had the very same size n shape of scar on my left knee too…i had a small accident when i was very young…after ops, the scar is like this loh..until now 😉 but not so noticeable lah 😉 don worry
I shall not take any insect bite lightly from now on. Don’t worry about the scar. Ashley is still young. Her skin can still be renewed. The scar will fade. Slowly but surely.
