Ming Yue Mooncakes From Ipoh

The famous Ming Yue mooncakes from the old school confectionery in Pasir Pinji, Ipoh are known for their traditional and delicious taste. The mooncakes are freshly bake daily and are also one of the cheapest in town. Their famous ones are the assorted nuts filling (Ng Ngan) and assorted nuts filling with Chinese ham (Kam Tui).  There is often a long queue at Ming Yue Confectionery for their peanut brittle cookies that are available all year round. Come Mid-Autumn Festival or Mooncake Festival, there will be long line of customers waiting outside their shop. The line can start from one end of the block to their doorstep.

Recently, my youngest sister gave us a box of this exclusive mooncake which she asked my other sister to get from Ipoh. There was no long queue when my sister dropped by to buy 16 boxes for friends and relatives. Thank God there was no limit imposed when she was there.

The square ones are the mixed nuts and the other two are lotus paste with egg yolk and kuaci and one is without egg yolk. Sadly, no keto mooncakes for me. I could only look at them.
