I made some steam egg roll this morning after seeing how nice they turned out at Judy‘s blog. I bought a tub of fish paste from the market.
whisked 3 eggs, added some soya sauce and pepper
Spread the fish paste on to the egg and roll it up for steaming. Added some water to the fish paste to make it softer and easier to spread.
Got my husband to try one and he said it was good. Then he asked, “You made all these by yourself? *his eyes opening wide* I nodded and of course I didn’t tell him that I bought the fish paste…..hehehehehe
If you would like to try, here is the recipe from Judy (I copied from Judy’s blog, hope you don’t mind, Judy)
Ingredients:-
3 eggs
150g fish paste
Preparation:-
- Beat the eggs and add in little bit soya sauce.
- For fish paste, add pepper and salt water to soften it (till the texture almost like kaya).
Cooking steps:-
- Heat the pan and grease it.
- Make egg skin: Pour the egg into the pan and start circulate the pan.
- Make sure the egg is well spread in a round shape.
- In low fire, cook till the egg fully dry on top, loosen it from the side and make sure it does not stick to the pan.
- Put the egg skin on the chopping board or any flat area.
- Roll it up and give a little press while rolling.
- When the egg roll put on the plate, make sure the edge of the egg side facing down to the plate.
- Turn to medium high fire and steam it for 15-18 minutes.
- Wait till it cool down, transfer it to chopping board and slice it.
- Serve.
