Hi. Sorry that some of you were not able to leave comment in this post earlier. I had accidentally clicked “Close Comment”. Have already fixed it 🙂
2 weeks ago, Ashley’s teacher asked me if I would like Ashley to join a dance programme for the Annual Sports and Prize Giving day in November this year. The children have to start practicing now. I asked Ashley if she likes to participate in the dance and she said yes. So I told Ashley’s teacher to let her join the dance. Then last week, I received a bill notice.
We are required to pay rm120 for costume and accessories for the dance. Isn’t this a bit too much? I can even buy those beautiful stone sinks with that amount. Ok..maybe not but you get what I mean? I feel that the fee for a child’s costume is a bit ridiculous. I am sure it will only be worn once during the day of the performance and probably once or twice during practice. A waste of money but since the kid likes to dance, so no choice eh? I hope Ashley won’t come back with some gaudy-looking costumes but I have a feeling she would 🙁
Wow, that is steep. They should have at least told you up front that there will be a cost for costumes, etc. I would be upset too.
Wah, have to pay so much!
now everything also money…we are paying for their trip, sports , concert etc….pohkai…
Wah…quite expensive wor.
This is really expensive. When I first saw your pic (above) I was already shocked to see the price stated.
Oh yes I recall my niece participated in that as well. The costume is quite nice, I must say. I guess that’s why they asked whether you wanted your child to participate or not. Maybe they should have told the price up front.
that’s a lot. i remember i didn’t pay any cents for Jo’s school when all the students required to perform annual concert. the school actually can reuse the costumes and accessories, paying rm120 is simply too much!
*sigh* indeed steep but no choice, die die also u gotta pay. U sure dont want your Princess to be left out right?
Oh, I learned something new here… “dancing lessons” and costumes for school functions (it’s not even the school concert, right?) are not free…
it’s not very fair if the teacher didn’t inform beforehand, as good as cheating!
its like that one ler, all concert participating students must pay. we paid RM100.
but we were not asked, as if it is compulsory
waiyo, they always make money fr us one rite
It is so expansive for that, I thought it was like RM80 or less than RM100, why can’t the sch pay half of it…everything also on parents..
Hi, swinging from Claire’s blog! Wow… RM120, consider “cekik darah” already! Hopefully I won’t have to pay that much when my girl’s turn come… 🙂
have a nice day ahead!
Hmmm, that is quite expensive.
hahaha….wow…RM 120 really is alot. And for a one time performance only….seems like very sai. Hopefully the outfit can use for other occasions or modified!
Anyway, hai….come to think of it….just let them ejoy lah!
wahhh..really bit pricey jor .. but last time we did a 70’s costume dress for our co dinner .. the accesorries n costume did really cost a bomb !! so i guess probablt they charge the same for kids loh … no choice loh barb since the school so smart oso… ‘sin jum hao jau’ 😉
Hi Barb, I was shocked too when I saw the price at the form. Nowadays, a lot of professional people such as doctors, teachers and etc are also trying to earn money in their own ways. T____T.
RM120 is really expensive for some performance costume. But I’m sure you don’t want Ashley to miss this yearly event. Maybe the costume is sewn very detailed and those beautiful manik and pearl are imported *wink* I guess Avery’s previous performance outfit was kinda cheap compare to yours, RM30 for a simple dress. She still wears it now.
it’s true, very expensive leh…
sometimes made us wonder if there r really so much profit to make hor. during my boys’ time, we paid abt RM80 for costume & the event….that also i find it pricey, yet i don’t want them to miss out, so no choice hv to pay also 🙁
wow! RM120 is a lot!! maybe you treat it as the fees for her dancing class……
