We did go out last evening for dinner. We went to the Otak Otak Place at the Tropicana Mall for dinner and walked around the mall after that. As we were walking towards one of the shops, Ashley who was skipping beside me suddenly grabbed my hand and appeared really scared. She was on the verge of crying and I asked her what was wrong. She kept asking to go home. I told her that everything was ok because mommy and daddy were there. After she had calmed down, I asked her again what happened and why she was so scared. She told me not to ask her about it anymore. So I didn’t until bedtime. I talked to Ashley and pleaded with her softly to tell me what actually happened.
First she asked me not to scold her. Then she said, she saw a white face. OMG!!!!!! It was my turn to be scared. I know the Hungry Ghost Festival is over but it is still the 7th month in Chinese Lunar Calendar. I quickly asked her if she was very scared. She said yes. I asked her if that white face has long hair. She shook her head. She said it was wearing colourful clothing. Hmm….I thought a ghost would be wearing something white huh? Then, she said, it has a …….

PHEW….it was actually a CLOWN that she saw at the mall! And there I go jumping into conclusion that she has seen something else. Ashley is really afraid of the clowns. She was too scared to tell me it was a clown because I have always told her that if someone were to smile or say Hello to her, she should be polite and smile back. What a scare she gave her silly mommy!

It’s THE month of the year and you really scared me :O Poor girl… my daughter is also very afraid of clowns, too, hence I know the scenario.
I think that is a fair scare. Coz when I was young I was also scared of clowns. They can be as scary and EVEN MORE scary than ghosts. By heart beat so fast read your post! 🙂
