What Do Your Children Eat For Breakfast?

Every morning after I have dressed Ashley up for school, we would go downstairs where I would give her some water to drink. Then I’ll start preparing her breakfast which is usually bread with jam.  Ashley will have her milk about half an hour later at the coffeeshop where we go to every morning before sending her to school.

I also prepare a snack for her to eat in school. It could be a piece of bread with jam, cereals like Fruit Loops or Honey stars or her favourite garlic bread/sausage bun from the bakery near my home .  I put them in her pink container which I got from Daiso.  Just the other day, one of her classmates celebrated his birthday in school and Ashley was given a piece of cake.  She couldn’t finish the cake and brought it home in her container.  Guess what? The chocolate cake which is full of cream spilled into her bag because she doesn’t know how to close the container properly.  It is actually quite hard to close 🙁  I had to clean her bag thoroughly and wipe away all the cream from her bag *pulls hair*

When I went to buy Mamil Gold yesterday, they gave me a free lunch box.  It is so cute and Ashley told me immediately that she wants to bring the lunch box to school this week.  The lunch box is air-tight and most importantly, easy to close.   It states on the brochure (or promotional banner) that the free lunch box promotion runs from 1 May until 31 May.

Since we are on the subject of milk powder, have you seen The Three Little Houses TV commercial by Mama Mil? Ashley enjoys this commercial very much and she kept playing it over and over again as it is entertaining. It features children wearing cut-out boxes depicting different houses and only one house is the strongest of all.  She told me that the video is like the story of The Three Little Pigs.  You know, the three little piggies who built 3 different types of houses hoping that the wolf would not be able to blow it down?  In the end, the brick house is the strongest to withstand the wolf’s huffing and puffing, just like children who have strong immune system will be able to fight off germs, viruses and bacteria.  Ashley said she wants to be strong like the boy in the brick house.  She even told me to make her a brick house *shake head* Check out the video when you have the time. I am sure your little ones will enjoy it.

My children had boiled eggs and cereal mixed with milk powder every morning for years on weekdays. On weekends, they will have noodles or porridge. They are not complaining, so I just leave them with this menu.

My girl drinks milk before leaving for school and she has 1 (sometimes 2) piece and 1 yoghurt drink in her lunch box. She’s a small and fussy eater. Hard to please her sometimes 🙁

Chloe just drinks a glass of milk (about 7oz) in the morning before she goes to school. She has her mid-morning snack (provided by her kindy) 2 hours later. Not very substantial I know… have to think of something to add to her morning milk 🙂 The lunch box is very cute! I’ve never bought Mamil Gold before. Maybe I’ll go get one just for the lunch box hehe..

I used to give Kyle Mamil since he was born..till last year when he turns 3, i thought i could use a switch since the mamil is so sweet (i donno whether u tried it urself Barb)…to me its just veryyyy sweet loh..then now Im giving him Nespray with probiotic..which is like fresh milk taste, not sweet de. As for morning snack to school, I really ran out of ideas what to put into his container sumtimes coz hes really a fussy eater.. so far I’ve given him butter biscuit, cereal, bread with nutella n peanut butter, oreo, chickedees sometimes…hmm, to a certain time he wont touch his container whole day..

oh i haven’t tried the milk myself but ashley enjoys it 🙂 ashley is a fussy eater too. does kyle’s school provide snacks for the children?

Hi! I’m new to your blog. Love reading about your little Ashley. I was going to tell you that the Lock n Lock containers are really great. The one shown looks really like it. My 4yo uses it for preschool and it’s real easy for him to open and close. And best of all – airtight! However, My 18mo also knows how to open it and that’s really frustrating sometimes when she gets to the biscuits and creates a mess!

hi there, thanks for dropping by my blog 🙂 Yes, I like this new airtight container a lot too. You have a very interesting blog. will be dropping by often 🙂
