Tecoma trees all over Malaysia are in full bloom now. Many people on my Facebook feeds have been posting pictures of these trees and comparing them with the cherry blossom or sakura trees in Japan. Coincidently, cherry blossoms are in season now too. Since our borders are closed and we can’t travel to the Land of the Rising Sun, Malaysians make do with the Tecoma trees and imagine being in Japan now.
The Tecoma trees look really beautiful especially when the flowers are scattered on the road.

Alas, I can’t find any Tecoma trees in my neighbourhood. So yesterday when I went cycling, I spotted the bougainvillea and couldn’t resist not taking any photos. Well, they do look like Tecoma trees, no?
