Malaysian Sakura Season In August

While I was out for my exercise over the weekend, I spotted big patch of pink colour on the road from afar.  As I got closer, I realized that they were the pink flowers aka Malaysian Sakura that have fallen from the Tecoma tree (tabebuia rosea trees).  These trees are also known as  “tissue paper trees” by the locals because of the texture and thin petals of the flowers.

I remember some time in March this year when the Tecoma trees were in full bloom, many people were sharing photos of the beautiful ‘sakura’ all over their social media.  I hope to see the beautiful Tecoma trees in full bloom soon.  I just realized that there were a few of these trees in my neighbourhood and they bear pink, white and orange flowers.
