Preparation for Chinese New Year

We have finally completed 99% of the stuff that needs to be done before the Chinese New Year.Β  For this year, I didn’t buy any pussy willows.Β  I bought some bamboo sticks from Sunway Pyramid a few weeks ago and decided to follow Rachel‘s footstep to decorate with butterflies.Β  I actually thought she bought those cute butterflies but upon checking with her, I found out that she handmade them πŸ™‚Β  Rachel gave me the idea of using angpow packets to cut out the butterfly shapes. I added some little red lanterns too.

Here is a close up of my butterfly flurry bamboo sticks.

I saw this cute little bamboo basket from Living Quarters and use it to decorate the dining table withΒ Β Β  ‘Ni Kao’ and mandarin oranges.

Some of the CNY cookies that I have bought.Β  Haven’t tasted them yet….better wait till next week or else I won’t be able to stop myself once I start to eat them πŸ˜‰

Wow… nice deco!! How to cut the butterflies shape out from angpau? Using the special cutter??

i didn’t get any cutter. Rachel told me to get a butterfly shape from the internet and print it out. Then just trace the shape and cut them out from the angpows.
