I love being alone. I love spending quite moments by myself, away from people. The older I get, the more I yearn for peace and quiet. I get up at 6 in the morning and go for my morning walk before I head to work. This is the time that I can be in my own thoughts while listening to my favourite songs on Spotify and walk for 1 hour.
I do treasure this one hour of silence. Being alone doesn’t mean that I am lonely. I enjoy doing things alone like go for a movie, have a good meal and exercising. Spending time by yourself is good for overall well-being. It can be rejuvenating especially when doing something that you enjoy.
Exercising helps to release endorphins that make one feel happier. I wish that I stay near a park so that I can walk around there amongst the trees for some peaceful solitude. My morning walk is usually around a few blocks of houses and cutting through the morning market. It would do 4 rounds which give me 6km.
These days, I don’t wear walking shoes anymore. I discovered this pair of rubber walking slippers that are often worn after recovery run. I was walking in a park a few months ago and noticed that several runners were wearing rubber slippers to run. I googled and found them in Shopee.
It gives very good support, in fact, much better support than my regular walking shoes. Who would have known that this simple pair of rubber slippers can offer so much. Cheap and effective!
