Farm In The City Seri Kembangan

We made a trip to the Farm In The City yesterday. Ashley and her cousin were so looking forward to it for the past few days. It rained a bit in the morning and by 10am, the rain had stopped. It was such a cooling day and just perfect for the outing.   There weren’t many visitors at the farm yesterday.  Entrance fee for adults is RM30 and children is RM25.  There is special discount for seniors too.  The farm is not very big and we did not have to walk far to get from one place to another.  There are all kinds of farm animals such as chicken, birds, ducks, goats, swans, geese, a bull and tortoises.  Also available are peacocks, prairie dogs, kangaroos, snakes, skunk, iguanas and many more.    Here are some photos of the trip.

Feeding Aldabra, the giant tortoise.  They enjoy being so close to the tortoise which kept eating the vegetables.

Pony ride for RM7.

Feeding the swans

Having fun playing with the rabbits

Carrying a skunk.  I think it looks very cute.  It was either afraid or preparing to spray as it looks as if it was lifting its legs up, covering the ears.

The kids said they enjoyed it very much and had loads of fun. Farm In The City is a very nice and family-friendly animal farm/petting zoo.  Many animals roam freely here in special enclosures with door stops.  It is definitely a fun and educational activity for the family.

Gift wrap for Ninjago Master of Spinjitsu fans

Recently I wrapped 2 presents for 2 special boys who are big fans of Ninjago.   I found this Ninjago picture online and printed it out.

Then I copied it onto a beige colour paper and drew the outline with dark marker pen.

I discovered that there are red, white, blue, green and black ninjas so I wrapped the gifts with plain red and white papers.  At first I thought I would just leave the Ninja eyes on the present but that look pretty plain.  Therefore I decided to draw the face.  The red one appears a bit more puffy than the other. This shows that I cannot draw very well … hehehehe.  That’s about all on my ninjago inspired gift wrap.  Happy Weekend everyone.

a very funny habit of hers

I was checking Ashley’s pencil box a few nights ago and I found this …

…….a tiny eraser that she refuses to throw away.  She has this habit of keeping and still using pencils that are only 2 inches long and erasers like the above.  We have a whole drawer full of new stationery and yet she just want to keep these 🙂  Funny right?

Gifts From Toronto

Brother-in-law is back for a holiday, together with his daughter. We are so thrilled to meet the sweetie pie for the first time 🙂  Ashley and her cousin have been talking non-stop since they met and both refused to go to bed last night.  Ashley also asked if she could stay at home today so she can play with her   🙁  They will be here for 3 weeks so I hope they get to see each other as much as they can.   As usual, brother-in-law brought some gifts for us.  Another elder brother-in-law also sent a gift to Ashley.

Some bagels for me….muahahahahah.  My in-laws know me well.

A Roots bag for Ashley from “Suk Suk” aka Uncle 4

A denim skirt from “Yee Pak” aka Uncle 2.

Do stay tune on what my brother-in-law got for hubs *wink*

Here we go again ….

Ashley’s bottom milk tooth is lose and a new one is coming out. So we thought it’s better not to wait for it to fall out on its own and took her to the dentist today.  We went to one near our house.   Discovered that one of her permanent molar has a hole 🙁  Sigh.  Wonder how come her tooth decay that fast.  She brushes twice a day and hardly eat sweet stuff.  The tooth extraction was fast and painless.  The dentist just put some numbing gel on her gums and pulled it out within seconds.  As usual, Ashley loves going to the dentist.  This trip cause a hole in my pocket *ouch*. We usually go to Smile Clinic but their appointments are full.   Must find another dentist soon to take care of her decay tooth.

Quirky

We ordered McDonald’s Breakfast one weekend and missy had the pancakes.   She usually eats them with some butter and syrup.  On that day, she decided to try something else.  First she spread some butter on the pancake.  Then some ketchup!  After that, more butter on the pancake *roll eyes*  She said it’s delish!

Vintage Necklaces

My sister found some necklaces which my mum had worn in the 80’s.  She gave them to me because she knows that I love to wear accessories.  I still remember seeing my mom in them.  She also love necklaces and would wear them to the office daily.  She has many and kept them inside her cupboard.  When I was a kid, I would go to her cupboard and take out these necklaces and play dress up.  I would put them on and pose in front of the mirror.  So much sweet memories.

My favourite little coffee place

One Friday evening, we headed to 1U because hubs wanted to check out the garmin astro 320.   After dinner, we headed to my favourite cafe, Whisk Outpost for some coffee and desserts.  I posted about them last year in my blog too.  I just love the coffee, food and the decor of this whimsical cafe.  They are situated next to Candylicious.

Check out the signs on the windows.

Gasps…so much good food.  Well I didn’t try the bagel that day because I wanted to have something else.

So surprised to see something new in their store that day.  Cold Brew Coffee that is oh-so-strong. Yes you can take the bottles home after drinking.

Tadaa….my favourite section is their cakes.  I had Red Velvet that day.  Can’t wait to try their other new flavours.

Have you been there?

Dad’s Birthday

It was my dad’s birthday yesterday and he turns 70.  We wanted to bring him to Swine @ Publika but he prefers Chinese food.  So we arranged for a dinner at Ee Cuisine, Eastin Hotel.  I also made some props so we can all have a bit of fun during dinner.  I recycled the glasses props which I made for Ash’s birthday earlier.  Added the lips and moustache ones.

Dad’s Pistachio cake, courtesy of Eastin Hotel.

Ashley and gung gung  before dinner starts.

Singing the birthday song.  Missy sang another round in Mandarin too.
