Visiting Friends

Since it is still CNY, we went “pai nin” earlier today. Do you recognise who this sweetie next to Ashley is?  I always love to see her photos in her mommy’s blog.  She is such an adorable baby.  Can you tell who she is?  Well, she is none other than Shireen‘s Baby Cassandra.   The last time I saw Cassandra was when she was 3 months old.  She has grown so much now.  Ashley just adores her and kept touching her face *slaps forehead*.  She can be rather rough sometimes so I have to keep reminding her to be gentle 🙂

Baby C and Ashley.  It is so hard to get Ashley to look at the camera now.

Here is another shot of the both of them.  See how tight Ashley is hugging her? *grins

It was great to see Shireen and her girls at her new home.  The 2 older girls didn’t want to take a pic together and I forgot to snap their photos later.  Alycia kept serving me “play food” and “tea” when I was there.  Guess she wants to fatten me up *chuckle*.  Baby C will be going for a surgery later this month.  Hop over to her mommy’s health blog to read up more about the poor baby.

a picnic we will go

I still don’t have the cny photos yet *sigh* so i’m going to post about what we did today 😀  A few of us blogger mommies got together and headed to this place for a picnic this morning.

Taman Rimba Kiara is located in TTDI and is just next to the famous Bukit Kiara Park. I got the above photo from the internet.

On the way to the picnic area.  Love the trees lining up at the side.  I also got this photo from the internet.  Oh I forgot to mention who were here at the picnic.  They are

Peggy & Annie.  Don’t cha just love Peggy’s pose here….hehehehehe

Christene & Jacss with one of her handsome twin son. This is the first time I met both mommies. They are really friendly and fun 🙂

What’s a picnic without food eh?  Jacss made some delicious dried meat & egg sandwiches, colourful jellies and also dim sum.

Annie brought yummy nuggets and wedges.  Look at those cute carrot flowers!

Peggy’s sinful glutinous rice (lor mai fan)

Christene brought some fruits and since I don’t know how to cook, I bought char siew paus *grins*  Besides food, Peggy was so well-prepared.  She even got ready a can of Ridsect and mosquito repellant cream, just in case 😉

While the mommies were chatting, the kakaks kept a lookout on the kids.  They pluck some lovely red flowers for them.

Ashley and her red flower.

We actually left the park in quite a hurry as it started to drizzle a bit.  Nevertheless, it was a fun 2 hour picnic.  We all had a great time.  Nice meeting both of you, Jacss & Christene.  BTW, did you notice that we were the only ones in the park?  😀 Thanks Peggy for initiating it.  We ought to do this again 😀

Still Celebrating….

Sorry, no updates from my blog yet. Still in the CNY mood with lots of gatherings and meeting up with old friends.  I forgot to snap photos on the first day of the Chinese New Year *slaps forehead*  So now I’m waiting for my sis to forward her photos to me 🙂  Going out in awhile to meet another good friend who is back with her family.  Another gathering and ‘pai nin’ tomorrow.  Will update by Monday, hopefully 😀  Hope everyone has a great celebration.

Two Days Before The Chinese New Year …..

We went to One Utama for some last minute shopping.  What’s new eh?  Hehehehehe.  Guess who we bumped into 😀

can you recognize who this handsome young boy is?

Well, he is no other than cute Shan Leo.  He was out shopping with his mommy, poh poh and his doting 2ma 😀  Oh, Shan Rae also came.  I saw him first when his poh poh was carrying him and I walked over and introduced myself.  Shan Rae is such a cutie pie!  It was so nice to meet another fellow blogger and most of the time, I could recognize the children first 😀  Ashley got along well with Shan Leo and she kept asking about “baby” (Shan Rae) after we parted ways.  Here are more photos taken by the boys’ mommy (I curi the photos from 2ma’s blog)

It was great to see all of you that day. Hope to meet up again soon 😀

Fan of Crabsticks

Eventhough I have bought some cookies for Chinese New Year, I have yet to eat them.  I got the usual Love Letters, Kuih Bahlu, Pineapple Tarts, Honeycombs and Walnut cookies.  However, I couldn’t resist when I saw the Fried Crabsticks.  I bought a tin and immediately opened it up and gobble gobble gobble. After 3 days, there is only a quarter left 🙁  I don’t think I will get another tin though.  Better control my diet as I know I will be eating a lot when I am back in Ipoh next week.  I hope I don’t need to take any weight loss pill after the Chinese New Year.

Preparation for Chinese New Year

We have finally completed 99% of the stuff that needs to be done before the Chinese New Year.  For this year, I didn’t buy any pussy willows.  I bought some bamboo sticks from Sunway Pyramid a few weeks ago and decided to follow Rachel‘s footstep to decorate with butterflies.  I actually thought she bought those cute butterflies but upon checking with her, I found out that she handmade them 🙂  Rachel gave me the idea of using angpow packets to cut out the butterfly shapes. I added some little red lanterns too.

Here is a close up of my butterfly flurry bamboo sticks.

I saw this cute little bamboo basket from Living Quarters and use it to decorate the dining table with    ‘Ni Kao’ and mandarin oranges.

Some of the CNY cookies that I have bought.  Haven’t tasted them yet….better wait till next week or else I won’t be able to stop myself once I start to eat them 😉

Sick before CNY :(

Ashley is down with a cold since yesterday.  Her nose is stuffy and she was sneezing.  This morning I brought her to the paed and reached the clinic before it was opened.  Very “kan cheong” because CNY is coming.  Before she got the cold, Ashley had 2 huge ulcers on her upper lip and for the past few days, she was pretty cranky and refused to drink water.  Had to bribe, coax, scold and etc 🙁  I applied the oralgel for her but didn’t seem to work.  Ashley is pretty prone to getting ulcers despite drinking lots of water and eating one fruit a day.  I checked with her paed and was told that it’s hard to determine why or how ulcers come about.  She suggested that I start giving her some multi-vits.  Ashley has not taken any multi-vits/ vitamin C before but takes 1 tablespoon of Millenium Juice (cactus juice) every day.

When we were at the clinic, Ashley kept asking where her doctor is.  The clinic opened at 8.30am but the doc normally comes in around 8.40am.  When she saw her doctor, she was so happy and eager to go into the room 🙂  Of course we couldn’t because there was another family before us.  I was reading a pamphlet on cerebral palsy and she kept interrupting me every few seconds to ask me when is her turn to go in *slaps forehead*  When her turn came, she was so happy and sat on the chair all by herself.  I used to have to carry her and have her sit on my lap and hold her hands to keep her from fidgeting or crying 🙂  What a big change…..guess my baby is a big girl now.  After going to the paed, she wanted to go to school and refused to go home.  I wanted to keep her home so that she won’t spread the germs to her classmates but she cried.  So have no choice but to let her go to school eventhough we were almost an hour late 🙂

Just Chillin’

Ashley was pretty quiet in the living room yesterday.  This was what I saw her doing when I went to check on her.  Lying on the sofa to watch Playhouse Disney on tv.  She even put Charlie beside her so that both of them can enjoy the show  *grins*

This is a great way to relax, mommy
