I Won A Free Airticket To Hong Kong

Some time last month, Cathay Pacific organized this “World of Winners” Ticket Offers campaign and released 7,000 free tickets to Malaysians. My friend, Elaine asked me to try my luck and register on their website on that particular day at 12pm sharp when the tickets were released. She told us that if we managed to get the tickets, we will visit Hong Kong together.

So on that day at 12pm sharp, I refreshed the website and it hung. I think hundreds of thousands people were trying their luck. I tried to refresh again and it has a notice saying I am visitor no. ??? and I need to wait approximately 20 mins to register. I refreshed again and immediately came to the registration page. I quickly fill in the information and answered a few questions about Cathay Pacific and submit. As soon as I did that, Cathay Pacific sent me an email to inform that they have received my registration and to wait for their announcement on 3 April.

Yesterday I saw the email from Cathay Pacific and ta-daa….I won a ticket to Hong Kong. I have never won anything this big before.

Although I have this free ticket, I am in a bit of a dilemma. I can only travel between May to 2 Jan 2024. Now I need to find someone to go with me and also plan when is the right time to visit Hong Kong. The last time we were there was about 10 years ago if I remember correctly.

Kindness In A Pot

One of my colleagues love to bring food to the office for everyone. Whenever his wife buys a new household appliance, they will try cooking, steaming or boiling all kinds of recipes and he will bring them to the office for us. He had brought homemade mooncakes, jellies, steam onion, date juice and more.

Lately he is into sweet desserts and because I don’t take sugar, his wife would pour a portion into the container first before adding sugar to the rest of the pot. The un-sweetened portion is mine.

He brings little containers like this for everyone in the office. Isn’t he sweet?

Instant Pork Leg Vinegar

I love eating pork leg vinegar but I don’t know how to cook this dish. Whenever I see them at the restaurants or coffeeshops, I would order this. The taste is different from stall to stall. Some are too sweet, some too sourish and some are just bland.

When I saw this instant pork leg vinegar from Long Farm, I decided to get a pack to try. It is very easy to prepare. Just thaw and stew the pork leg vinegar for 20 minutes. It tasted pretty good with the right balance of sweet and sour.

This packet comes with several big pieces of pork trotters and ginger. This dish is good for 2 to 3 people. It does not have any eggs in it so you can add some if you like. A pack of vinegar pork trotters was selling for around RM26 when I first bought it, if I am not mistaken but now it has increased to RM30. If you are like me who doesn’t know how to cook this dish, perhaps you want to get yourself a packet to try when the cravings hit.

The New MRT Putrajaya Line Has Begun Operation

The new MRT Line that goes from Kwasa Damansara to Putrajaya has opened and as announced by the PM, the ride is free until end of March. My friend, Elaine and I decided to bring our girls to experience the train ride to Putrajaya. Missy and I started our journey from the Awan Besar (Sri Petaling line) and we got off at Sg. Besi station. It connects to the Sg. Besi MRT line and we waited for Elaine and Amber there. I am quite impressed with the MRT stations as they have protective doors that only open when the train arrives. I haven’t seen these on the Sri Petaling line before and we can always jump down to the train tracks (not that we want to do that).

There were some cute and bright seats for commuters to rest while waiting for the train at the MRT station. Once we have reached Putrajaya Sentral which was the last stop, we hopped down for some coffee and donuts. Elaine wanted to check out how it goes to the KLIA airport from there. We can take the train at the next platform to KLIA and the ride is about 15 minutes from Putrajaya Sentral to the KLIA and the fare is RM11 per head. Maybe it’s better to take the train to the airport from KL Sentral as it goes direct.

After we have reached the Putrajaya Sentral (last stop), we took the train back to TRX (Tun Razak Exchange) and then changed to Kajang line to Cochrane station which is connnected to Mytown shopping mall. We had lunch at Ikea and went shopping. It was a fun outing for all of us. We were also surprised that the rides on the other lines like Sri Petaling and Kajang are all free as well.

Delicious Keto Low Carb Bread You Can Buy In KL

If you have been following my blog, you would know that I love bread and anything carbo. Since I am following the low carb way of eating for years, I have stopped eating carbs.
