Best Buy From Shopee

During the recent 9.9 (September 9) sales on Shopee, we managed to snatch a great deal.  It was just a spur of a moment when hubs said why don’t we check out the air fryers on Shopee.  He has always wanted to get one and he was actually eyeing on a Philips Air Fryer.  While browsing the Shopee app, he saw the Tefal Easy Fry Classic Air Fryer selling at RM299 which is cheaper than Philips that was around RM399.

So we thought RM299 was already a good deal until we checked out.  By using Tefal Store voucher, we managed to save RM69.  Also, shipping is Free so in total, we only paid RM230 for the Tefal XL Size Air Fryer.

Such a great deal right?

So here is our new baby in the kitchen.  Do stay tuned to what we have tried using the air fryer a few days ago.

I Am Fully Vaccinated

Yesterday was the appointment of my 2nd dose. I have been looking forward to this day for the longest time. 9 weeks exactly. Astra Zenneca vaccine has the longest wait time between doses.  Initially it was 12 weeks and now it is shorten to 9 weeks.  The waiting period between doses for other vaccines such as Pfizer and Sinovac are about 3 weeks apart.

With the easing of lockdown here in Malaysia and Klang Valley has moved to Phase 2, many places now allow people who taken 2 doses to enter.  Restaurants allow dine-in for those who have completed 2 doses, shopping malls are open and followed by cinemas soon and even travelling to Langkawi.  My neighbourhood market has opened last week as in the street stalls are allowed to operate but only those who have completed 2 doses (plus 14 days after the vaccination day of the 2nd dose) are allowed to enter. Bummer. I still have to wait another 14 days before I can go.

The state borders are not opened yet so we still cannot travel except to Langkawi next month.  However, I don’t think we will be travelling anytime soon because the crowds are scary.  The news reported that many people flocked to the beach, waterfall, campsite in Selangor because cross-districts are allowed now.  After being locked down for a few months, many people cannot wait to go outdoors.  I was scared looking at the photos that went around social media because there was no SOP whatsoever.  The people were crowding around at the beach and waterfall.  I can’t wait for Ashley to get her vaccination so that we can at least have some normalcy back into our lives.

How To Move Your Piano Safely

A piano is a common thing in many people’s homes in Kuala Lumpur. Not only does it add a sense of luxury and elegance to your home, it is also a form of relaxation through music. It can be difficult to move your piano on your own when you are moving to a new house. Many people think that only strong muscles are used to move the piano, but it is equally important to protect the piano during the process.

It really does not sound that easy. Due to the large shape and uneven weight distribution of the piano, moving the piano is a cumbersome job. Considering an average piano weighs more than 90kg and costs thousands, being such an expensive possession, safety is always the priority.

Therefore, here are some tips to move your piano safely:

  • Hire a professional mover

Professional piano movers are well-experienced in moving a piano, and they know how to handle this heavy object safely. They have proper equipment and ramps while moving a piano. In addition, they are always following the industry safety protocols to ensure every single corner of the piano is always protected.

  • Protect your piano

The safety of your piano is the first priority while you are moving from one place to another. No one wishes for their piano to reach a new destination with dents everywhere. Hence, making sure the piano is closed and wrapped with thick protective coats and layers to keep your piano safe.

  • Provide accurate details to the movers

It is important to let your piano movers know your details of your piano type, and location. By knowing your piano type, they can decide which truck to use, the number of manpower needed, and other moving equipment to bring along for the job. This allows them to have pre-planning before reaching your place and ensure a smooth moving process later on. Also the mover will be able to provide a more accurate piano moving price quotation to you.

  • Don’t attempt to move your piano on your own

Piano is incredibly heavy and awkward to move by yourself. It really requires skills from the professionals to handle this tedious and strenuous process. Due to the high value of the piano, it is especially important to handle the piano with extreme care, so a professional piano mover service is even more necessary.

Although pianos are heavy and look sturdy, their internal workings are sensitive to bumps during transportation. A professional piano tuner can ensure that the piano sound is tuned and in key again.

Piano is a large and heavy object and it can easily damage and replacing a piano can be expensive. Hiring professional piano movers is the best choice for the safety of the piano.

Contact Mover2U for a reliable piano moving service in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya or Klang Valley. They are a pro mover team for transporting pianos and performing other moving and packing services too. Do contact them for more information today.

Fun Online Games You Can Play For Free

Online games can offer people, young and old, an escape from the reality of the world. For children, it is important to have the right guidance on the types of games to play and also when to play because children may be exposed to certain risks and addiction.  When Ashley was much younger, she enjoyed playing Fishville , Fruit Ninja, Talking Tom and a few other games.

Now that she is a teen, she is into Minecraft, Mobile Legend, PUBG and Roblox.  She spends about an hour to two hours a day to play these games after school as they help her to de-stress, especially now with the lockdown and she only attends virtual classes.  Not being able to see her friends in school and staying in her room all day is taking a toll on her.  Playing online games can help to reduce the negative emotions and makes her feel better.

Although online games have received many bad raps because of gaming addiction, there are many positive and beneficial impacts for children and adults.  Do you know that online games is connected with brain development? There are online strategy games such as the highly popular Solitaire card game that can help to stimulate brain activity and keep the mind healthy. While this game is not as complex as some other games, Solitaire also requires some strategy for a much better chance of winning the game.

I remember playing Solitaire like 20 years ago on the computer at work. I enjoyed playing it a lot and love to drag the cards around the screen, especially after I have been staring at the computer for hours typing letters and reports. Solitaire was a fun and distracting game that helped me to relax my brain. It was a break that I needed to help me stay focused.  To my delight, I just discovered that I can play Free Solitaire games online at Solitaire.org, an online website that offers plethora of free and fun games that can be played on your mobile phones, desktop computers and laptops.  This sure brings back memories. It has been so many years since I played Solitaire and I think I need to brush up on the rules and learn the tricks again.

I tried to play the game last night and finds it rather challenging. Can you see that I was stuck? Time to practice!  At Solitaire.org, you can also find many different versions of solitaire such as Klondike, Freecell, Spider, Tripeaks, Pyramid and Golf.

Besides solitaire, I discovered another one of my favorite games which I used to play back in the day and it is the Mahjong Solitaire game.  It is not the classic 4-player Mahjong games that our grandmothers or mothers used to play.  The Mahjong Solitaire is a game that appears as a board with tiles arranged on top of each other in the shape of a pyramid. Each tiles have different characters and images and each image appears in 4 tiles in the game.  The goal is to combine the tiles with matching images.

The Mahjong Solitaire is such a fun and easy game to play. I can spend hours playing it. This game is challenging but helps relieve stress and stimulate brain activity.

Besides the above, there are also an abundance of card games such as Gin Rummy, 21 Blitz, Thirty One and etc. Solitaire.org also has Match 3 Games like Zuma Ball, Candy House which are inspired by the Zuma ball shooting game and Candy Crush.  If you like puzzle games, you will be able to find Daily Sudoku, Daily Crossword, Daily Word Search and more.

I also enjoy the Letter Scramble game which is a Scrabble-styled game where you spell as many words as you can before the time runs out. It helps to stimulate the mind, spelling skills and concentration.

Ashley and I had fun playing the Hidden Object game. She is faster than her mom when it comes to locating the hidden items.  Both of us had loads of laughter and fun while playing the Hidden Object. It is a great game for those who have a keen eye for details.

Do you love playing online games too?  Head over to Solitaire.org and explore their selection. They have the best web browser games which you can have hours of endless fun.  The best thing is that this gaming website does not have advertisements and you do not have to sign up to play.  Time to lose yourself in the virtual world. These games are very addictive.

The Naughty One Strikes Again

Usually I would take off my slippers and put them on the tall shoe rack when I come into the house. That afternoon, I thought Sheldon is taking a nap and won’t be bothered with it. I was wrong!  I heard a ‘pulling’ sound and went out to check. The strap has been pulled off.

Pretending not to see me when I asked him about the slippers.

Last Sunday, hubs washed the car and left the sponge on the table to dry.  In less than 30 minutes later, he saw this.

This fella is really naughty. However, we don’t have the heart to scold him because he is too cute.

Buying Potted Plants Online

Many years ago we were staying in apartment which has a small balcony.  The size was about 8 feet x 3 feet and I would fill up the balcony space with lots of green plants.  I love going to my balcony as being surrounded by the green plants is so calming.  Once I became a mom, I did not have time to take care of them and I have to give my plants away.

Now that I am staying in a landed property, I still do not have many plants as I don’t have a patch of grass on the driveway.  My mom would have pots of Adenium plants and pink Bougainvilleas.  Occasionally I would buy some green potted plants but they do not last long. I wonder what happened to my green thumb. When we welcome our furbabies into the family, I cannot have anymore plants as Buffy used to dig them up.  Cooper did the same too and now Sheldon has been digging up my mom’s Adenium plants.  Luckily he only dug up 2 pots and not the rest of them.  When Sheldon dug out the soil from one of my mom’s Adenium plants, I left the pot outside my house.  After a week or so, the plant was stolen.  The thief dug out the plant and left the pot behind. I am speechless that there are people who resort to stealing plants. Sometimes, I would buy succulents and put them on the patio table.  Pray that the inquisitive Sheldon won’t be able to spot them and bite my plants.

After seeing my friend, Elaine sprucing up her garden and buying plants I became interested again.  She gave me a pot of fern about 2 weeks ago.  Ferns are one of my favourites because I love the long big green leaves. I saw an online plant seller on FB in one of the groups and fell in love with the plants.  I ordered 2 potted plants and they are :-

The 2 plants were delivered by the courier service – Lalamove.  They were picked up from Sg. Buloh to my house and delivery cost is RM18.  Expensive huh?  I wish the nurseries near my house will be opened soon so that I can visit them and buy more. Buying plants online is very convenient especially during lockdown when the nurseries are closed. However, I just don’t like paying for high delivery charges.

This is the Boston Fern which I hang up so that Sheldon cannot get to it. It cost RM18.

The one on the left is the Fern plant that was gifted to me by my friend.  The right post is the Thaumatococcus plant which cost RM15. Nice? These pots are outside my house where I have a small planter box near the grill.

When Life Gets Overwhelming

It has been a long week for me.  I was very busy at work trying to compile documents for tender submission that took days to do.  At home, I have to do the usual housework, cook dinner and etc. Then, I also have my online work to do every night.  I ain’t complaining though. I am lucky to have a job when so many people are jobless because their companies or businesses are impacted by the pandemic.  I am also blessed that I have my online assignments to do which allow me to earn some additional income.

On top of these, I am also having pandemic fatigue.  Can’t wait for life to get back to normal.  So when I feel stressed, I take a walk or run in my neighbourhood.  A good workout can do wonders to de-stress. I look forward to taking my morning walk and go for a run whenever I can. This is my Me Time where I switch on to Spotify and start exercising.  The only drawback is that I go to the same place to workout and it is quite boring.  I dare not venture any further as I do not want to run into crowds.  I do miss running around the stadium and can’t wait to go back soon.

Spotted this when I was about to wrap up my exercise this morning.

This brings a smile to my face.

How The Teen At Home Releases Stress

About over a week ago, missy came to me and asked to buy this cute little thing on Shopee.  It is a colourful Push Pop fidget toy.  I believe it is sensory tool that one can play with over and over again. She told me it is a good stress reliever for her.  She chose this design which she said is the Amogus.  For the life of me, I have never heard of that before.

She said it’s a meme.  So I went to my trusted source – Google to find out what Amogus is.

“Among Drip” was a meme from December in which a 3D rendering of Among Us characters wearing expensive sneakers was edited into every context imaginable. In January, it devolved into an even more simplistic drawing of the game captioned with the intentional misspelling “Amogus”.

I still don’t understand what it is.  Anyway, the toy has arrived and it looks kinda cute.

Once you press down the little pop-ups, turn the toy around and press the other side.  The teen said it’s fun.  As for me, I prefer to use the bubble wrap it comes with as a stress reliever.  The only drawback about the bubble wrap is that it is not as colourful as this toy.

Here is the link where we bought the sensory Amogus toy – https://shopee.com.my/New-Rainbow-Among-Us-Unicorn-Pop-It-Round-Fidget-Kids-Toy-Push-Bubble-Stress-Relief-i.141602075.8024050624?
